This is a very good choice, especially for the Coffee Table size photo books. My favorite is Mixbooks.com, but stay away from Shutterfly if your are particular about your photo colors as they automatic re-balance and modify your photo colors....

I use Mixbooks.com using their press parameters as with Shutterfly they will automatic re-balance and change the color of your photos you use in books. This is very good if all you send them are just snap-shots plus quality. Blurb is also a very good choice.... Good luck.

Mine is tack sharp and the barreling and vignetting aren't that bad and easily corrected in P/S when needed. It's is my carry around when I travel overseas as it covers about 98.5% of the shots I take.

If ya want to shoot cars and the other sights, I just got back 2 weeks ago using only my nikor 24-70mm f2.8 lens. I was a little nervous as I usually travel with a Nikor 29-300mm and get about 98% of the shots I want. One lens is all you'll need. My newish iPhone 10XR actually out shot my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100-2 pocket camera for dinner time shooting. Your travel will be fairly closely contained to a long list of things to see with little time to wonder off or shop. We got about 30 minutes at a flee-market to get souvenirs... Nice people, coffee bad, drinks got better later in the week and weather was great... Have a great trip and shoot the cars,K!

Too heavy.... Ya want to have fun while there and those long lenses will get to you by the end of each day. And you won't need that much reach...

I have traveled to over 65 countries and I mostly use a zoom range of 18 or 28 - 200 or 300 mm. I'd really only take your 24 - 120 mm should be adequate...

If you use "snapshot plus type of photos" then the automatic color adjustment Shutterfly is real good for those folks. I present press ready photos in my books and Shutterfly had to reprint 2 of my first coffee table books after they bought MyPublisher.com company and dissolved it. I can not use them. I found among several other book printers the one I like best is Mixbooks.com and they do every thing I need except the coffee table book size in lay flat pages. But Blurb is pretty good for what you send them is what you get in their printed books. Just a thought....! (I have proof of Shutterfly's manipulation of photos you put in their books, if interest... I tried Shutterfly and they had to redo 2 of my coffee table sized books because they manipulate my images after I set them all to their press parameters. One of the auto changes of the two surprises does have a global setting the other that can change your images you must turn off in each individual photo. For those who only create books with snap shot quality (and those images could be pretty good) images they do a good job. I finally found MixBook.com to be very close to MyPublisher.com which Shutterfly bought and closed down. For those that are looking for professional photo books PLEASE look else where. If anyone wants to discuss this further contact me at stuparr@stusplace.com. I can prove what I have stated.

Just got back from Cuba about 36 hours ago. Most every where you go you will see many things to shoot, especially OLD CARS some in beautiful like new condition and some not so... we were told to be careful about shooting people, especially in costume as they will want money. As usual ask before if it’s OK to shoot them and how much it will cost. I Found one young lady with interesting hairdo tell me to take her picture and she said “no cost money, no money. Please take my picture”. So I did and I thanked her and off she went. They know that us tourest are warned about photoing Cubans on the streets!! Good luck and have fun. Coffee is weird and bacon is barely cooked and very greasy... mostly sunny, humid, and great clouds. We had one day a super monsoon rains while eating lunch under a thatched roof outdoor patio. We all got soaked.... a “war story” event to tell our grandkids... Cars and their way of life I found rather interesting....

I don’t understand why so many folks would use aperture priority mode unless the depth of field is the issue like in close-up shooting. The number one “killer” of otherwise good shots is camera blur! When shutter-Priority can help photos taken. I use manual with iso on auto most of the time, but just saying.... why aperture-Priority 90% of the time??

Use 120 DPI and you’ll be fine... and a size reasonably close to a large monitor.

Your experience is with the east coast repair NOT the west coast shop. Due to last several years experience and comments from others ... use the east coast shop and get faster and better repair service... just the way it is...!!

When I bought my D800, I also bought the Nikon 28-300 mm f 3.5-5.6 lens and now use it on my D810 for a walk around lens when we travel abroad and my images are very sharp. At home I usually used my Nikon 24-70 mm f2.8 and it is hard to tell the difference in sharpness between the two images on most that I print... you probably should send it to Nikon’s east coast repair center to get checked out as something is wrong with your lens if you are having this softness problem.
