These are unprocessed jpegs. I have not taken the plunge and subscribed to post processors like photoshop or Lightroom. I’m just getting back into photography after a 25+ year hiatus. Are they really that important? Really worth the investment for a serious casual user?

I pay $10 a month for Photoshop Classic and Lightroom and for me as an experienced photographer they are invaluable. There are many other very friendly post processing software and I’d highly suggest that you get one to elevate your photography. If you do decide to go for a post processing software I encourage you to shoot in RAW to get the most from your images.

Not Noise. Canon has good High ISO clarity. Image #2 is motion blur at 1/30th. Overall the light is just flat due to overcast. Are you shooting jpeg or RAW? The other question would be what you're using for post processing and if you are shooting only jpeg then go to RAW and brush up on your post processing as this would really improve your overall results. Last - I know that Tamron makes some decent lenses but I would highly suggest investing in Canon glass - even used glass.

Is this photographically possible to have the rocket and moon in sharp focus with one shutter click, or is it an overlay with two pics?

Yes this is entirely possible. That's not to say that Highlights, shadows and other adjustments were not done in post. I have a very similar shot from an airshow many years ago where a Blue Angel is climbing up through a full moon. I named that shot "Fly me to the Moon" so I know this is a feasible shot.

OK let's take it from the top. First Photo Gallery and Sub Birds are historically "safe places" where photos can be posted without without criticism, except from the occasional troll. If you want critiques, post single images in the Photo Critique Section. Let's talk about your post. Overall it's an above average set. Colors are correct and focus is sharp. Subjects are going about their daily lives. I will assume all the shots are post processed. Remember these shots are yours not mine and the only on you have to satisfy is you.

No.1 I would clone out the leaf cutting across the Heron's breast.

No. 2 Not knowing your PP skills, I would like you to tell me if the reflection is real.
Answer 1 & 2. I could and can clone out the leaf. No that is not a cloned reflection I composed my shot this way to capture the reflection.

No. 3 The parrot is sharp and not over processed. If it were mine I would add a highlight to the eye in PP.

No. 4 Even you know that's the best shot in the set.

No. 5 A run of the mill Osprey BIF. Nothing special there. Technically well done. Again an eye highlight would help

No. 6 Nice action shot it tells a story. Focus right on, water droplets and red gills on the fish help with the action.

No. 7 Another action shot nicely in focus

No 8. Another run of the mill Osprey with fish shot. Technically well done but nothing exceptional.

This took me about 20 minutes to complete. That's a lot of time and effort. A "Well shot" response would have given you the same information about the technical aspects of your post. If you have specific questions about about shots in your post, then post them individually and ask for comments.
OK let's take it from the top. First Photo Gallery... (show quote)

I wasn't posting my photos here to enter a contest and certainly wasn't posting here to be critiqued. I posted them to share with the group so they might enjoy them but apparently this group is more about the criticism than the enjoyment. Now that I know what it's all about - thanks but no thanks.

I thank everyone else for your thumbs up and kind words. I'll take emojis over snarky comments every day of the week.

Some very interesting shots here but the one of the cormorant is the only one that is a good photograph.

Interesting comment coming from someone that doesn't post much but commentary. But hey, to each his own I guess.

Posted some of these in the BIF section but not sure how many folks actually visit that forum. This set was from a photo walk I did yesterday at our local lakes.

First, it has been some time since I have posted here on UHH as it's been a very busy 2023 for me. Finally picked my camera up again for a more serious effort to shoot what I love best - Birds.
I met a local Meetup photography group at our local park lakes. Hope you enjoy.

Lighting is everything and these images are all over the place with flash shadows and flat light. Beautiful model though.

At that focal length hand held, I’d say camera shake. Mono pod would go a long way to correct this.

If it were myself. 18-300. After that your widest fastest f2.8 or better for indoors, museums and such.

Long ago I posted a batch of images with the commomality amongst them being the model's wearing a simple top that I purchased at a thrift tore for one dollar. The image you see here escaped posting. No model release so don't bother asking for an uncropped version. Interesting lighting, from that Archive.

We should just call this the Jim Tonne section.
