i had that problem over 20 years ago. lost all now I use 2 hard drives and two sets. That is I store all my pictures as taken by date (240124 is today YEAR MONTH DAY) on the different hard drives. I then upon finalizing my pictures, save on another set of 2 hard drives by title. i use 4 hard drives and the prices are worth it.
never recovered my old ones, the charge was $1,000.00 to try with a small chance to recover, at that time.
Always have 2 back-ups. Years ago I had 1 external hard drive back-up and it failed. Lost all. Now I have 2 hard drives and install as taken. the process them and put them on another 2. Have 4 back-ups, and it's an over kill. maybe, but I feel safe.
I understand that if you set the camera on "P" (for professional) it does it for you.
Especissily with the new "Mirrorless" cameras.
I guess some of us are computer people and do it on the computer and some in the camera. To each his own.
I trop thru the lens. Learned with taking sides. You took all correctly (focus, cropped and exposure) or got nothing. I still think that way, yes, I can fix and adjust some now but, I still take the picture with all in mind. Save a lot of work later.
I would take your 18 to 400 and the extender maybe.
Each coppy seems to be redundent th the last one.
Not jost are the magazines going so are the GOOD books
If you want to see what is available go to Barns & Noble and check them out. I found they have a lot of British Mags. Very Expensive and talk about the older cameras. Found next to nothing on the Mirrorless cameras.
Don't know how to set it to UHH.
Too old to be computer smart. Was married before I got a TV
Don't read it.
I skip the sections that I don't care about. Only it's harder now that it's all mixed up. If they went back to the old way it would be easer for both you and me.
We all have our favorites. If you have a brand and can use the lenses try to go that way. Since this is a big investment decision you should go to a store (not on line) and handle different cameras to find one the is comfortable in your hands. In my case I have Canons. and have gone from the 5D series to the R5. That seemed to me every thing I wanted or needed. They are not a cheep camera but not the top of the line. Yes they are a pro camera and give me a sturdy great camera. BUT, other brands make great cameras. GO TO A STORE!
Funnels 2 Towers takes no salaries and 95+% goes to what they say. They list the people and salaries as $0.
After reading the blog I looked up a bunch and was amazed at the big con job some are.
LOOK UP THE SALARIES of the charities. I found Tunnels 2 Towers the best. NO salaries. Others have salaries of hundreds of thousands to individuals running them.
