I use Pentax and Sigma cameras in manual. When I focus in manual,I press the shutter release button half way, and a lite flashes in my viewfinder when the frame comes into focus. I don't know if this is common in all DSLR's, but it might be worth a try.

You're right. I am SO sorry..........

I wouldn't want anyone to think that the fact that the Blue Angels have been grounded had anything to do with air shows. Hmmm...... Maybe, at the next airshow, we can have a fly-over by a very special 747. Not making a political comment here, just an opinion about the content of performances at the next airshow.

Google " Reflector sight". The reflector sight Wikipedia gives a very good explanation of the principle.

Beautiful description. You don't even have to have your camera up to your face to use this setup.

I'm not Don, and don't have one yet. But, I think I get the concept.

This is not about focus. A bird is far enough away that you could set the focus manually or rely on the autofocus.

This is about aiming with a very long lens with a very narrow field of view. Imagine seeing a bird fly buy, picking up piece of 1/2 inch plastic pipe and instantly getting it pointed at the bird by looking through the pipe.

Now think of getting a small piece of glass and putting a dot in the middle. How quickly could you raise the glass up and get the dot centered, or close to centered, on the bird.

Your Pentax lens will work in manual mode on just about any Pentax camera. You can pick up DSLR Pentax cameras on Ebay cheaper than you could convert a PZ to digital.

I have a very little used PZ1 Pentax 35 sitting my closet and a 100 t0 300 mm SMC lens for it as well as a 50 mm lens . Is there any way I can adapt it to digital as I no longer use film. If it is possible, where can I have such an adaption made as I am not a technical person.?
