Details in the download are good. It is a scary thing to see!

Hi, Carol! Thank you for the nice comment. It is scary. At least the flames weren't any threat to humans on top of that mountain. It just made quite a show. It's believed that dry lightning started that fire and others in the region. All of the smoke in the atmosphere is not only from local fires, but also from the fires in California. You just don't want to spend much time outside breathing it in.

Appreciate your photo of a difficult subject taken at a difficult time. Please stay safe and keep shooting.

Thank you for the comment, Paul. During that day, the wind shifted which blew the fire back on itself. That night, no flames were to be seen. I'm hoping it burned itself out.

I took this photo at sunrise a couple of days ago. The smoke was very thick, so had a hard time in processing trying to get a clearer picture of the flames and the smoke coming from them. This result is the best I could get, and it was done in Topaz Studio. Love that software!

Hi, Bob... That second shot is stunning, and I mean STUNNING! IMO, that is a photo that would sell real well were you to go commercial. The other two are also beautiful.

I am curious about how many UHH readers primarily shoot with bridge cameras. My only camera is a Canon PowerShot SX60 IS. I understand its limits and am very happy with the results I achieve. I mostly photograph birds and landscapes. I'm interested in whether other photographers would discount my work due to the camera I use.

A very active member on UHH who was also a friend of mine, and has since passed away, Snap Shot, took pictures with a small, old, point 'n shoot camera that fit into his shirt pocket. Most of his photos were of flowers, absolutely stunning with his skill in post-processing. You can look them up here on UHH.

Has anyone had any experience with Lens Baby lenses? Especially on MFT cameras?

I have most of the Lensbaby lenses/optics. The effects are the same on all cameras that they're made to mount. The results depend on our skill in using them, the camera settings being equal.

I had the privilege to spend severals days last March with him running around the countryside from Red Cliff and Broom's Head to Iluka and Evans Head. He was a big help in my learning how to use my cameras, and I will miss the telephone talks we had every few weeks. He was a very kind and good friend. I will miss him very much.
