Was going to add my two bits worth but Dennis has all covered very well. Do like his Canyon City; quaint town for walk-abouts, interesting old architecture and old churches, and can catch train there to pass under Royal Gorge bridge. Plenty to shoot in that area. BTW while in the Springs if staying at the Broadmore is in your "bucket list" go ahead. One of the great five stars in our country. Also, there is a descent zoo on Cheyenne Mountain if you've time. ❤️ all that area. Have a great time!

Got a great zoo on Cheyenne Mountain. Can see for miles up there. Easy drive to Canyon city. Quaint town for walk-abouts, interesting old architecture and old churches, and can catch train there to pass under Royal Gorge bridge. Plenty to shoot in that area. Stay at Broadmore for a real experience if you got some "deeeep" pockets ❤️ that area!

28-200G f3.5-5.6 stays on my D750 most always while the 24-120 collects dust. This is an out of production lense. Find it on used market. Won't break the bank. Your camera body must have focus motor. It also does well on my D500. You will not regret this purchase if you choose to get it.

For landscapes: (unless you really need to spend $) Shoot manual mode, shutter at least 1000, lense wide open (unless lotta light) and auto ISO. You should get good results with what you currently have. Go practice and judge for yourself. BTW, most of your shots are going to be <300mm.

In the early 50's my dad bought an Argus C-3 then on to a Nikon Ftn in early 70's. I still have both btw. To go along with the Argus my dad had a GE light meter that still works. The TN finder on the Nikon is dead. I also have a Minolta SRT-101 that I bought for my dad and used a lot. I actually believe it was as good as the Ftn.

Nikon 28-200G. Out of production no focus motor. Find on eBay <$300. Outstanding walk-about.

The Sigma 150-600C works like a champ on my D750 & D500. Use it mostly for birding. Mine was sharp out of the box and quick to focus. It is rather ify with 1.4 converter on 500 but ok on the 750. No complaints - would do it again.

I really like those kind of pets. I've a rabbit along those lines. Only attention it needs is setting back up when the darn armadillos knock him over😂.

Any 150-600. Depending on who listen to, they are all great. I personally have and really like my Sig C but have a Tamron short zoom and a wide Tokina. All are able lenses and as good as the shooter.

I have this lense with the recommended Sigma 1.4 TC. Be aware that it takes a lot of light to capture autofocus. This, I understand is due to sensor size. Same combo works great on my 750. However, this lense on the 500 with out the TC is great. In fact, I keep it on all the time. Use it for BIF and wildlife.
