Since the phonetics of your misspelling have been going around in my head, I've been trying to figure out what the science of pissology just might be. I think I have it. It's practiced by those adept at pissing others off, known as pissologists. A few pissologists from this section of the forum come to mind quite readily and one who has not been seen here in some time must be given the title of pissologist emeritus.

Isn't that what British alcoholics are called, when they're not being called old sods?

What kind of miraculous shit? I am genuinely interested. DoD stuff? Aerospace? Software? something else?
I worked on some dynamic motion simulators used to test avionics packages for missiles and spacecraft. We built these giant 3-axis simulators with 12-foot arms cast from magnesium, powered by 2000psi hydraulics... they moved unreal, 90 degrees with zero overshoot (critically damped) in a fraction of a second.

My first solo project out of college, I designed a 3-axis mirror-system for the military that would sit inside a 100-foot dome tent and draw pictures on the inside with a laser simulating the flight of an aircraft. A tank would be inside the tent and see if it could track the laser image of the aircraft. The final axis had to have 2 arc-second accuracy and unreal dynamic response to draw the aircraft in real time.

That was my first job, lasted 18 months until I took a leave of absence to travel around the world and contemplate designing shit used to kill people.

My second job was for a very small start-up that was recycling fluorescent lighting and turning it into double-walled greenhouse glass. I made all the semi-automated equipment to process the fluorescent bulbs into glass panels.

Funniest part of this is he isn't even a Democrat, and he still leads in the Party.

funny thing is that Sanders would beat Trump if the election were held July 18th, 2017 (date of the article) ...even funnier, so would Biden!

https://www.good.is/articles/democrats-who-would-defeat-trump

According to a new survey from Public Policy Polling (PDF), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) and former Vice President Joe Biden are currently the strongest candidates in a hypothetical matchup with Trump.

Voters in the poll chose Biden over Trump 54% to 39% and Sanders over Trump 52% to 39%.

here's the poll in case you want to get more specific...

Do you really think anyone that comes here has an "actual life"?

I agree with your assessment of engineers. I've been fortunate to work with some folks that were utterly brilliant. They could explain things and it felt like I was chained to a rock while they blasted away at warp speed. There have also been plenty that you'd wonder if they should have gone into something else like HR or selling shoes. Where you are is a function of who is there with you. I'd imagine this is true for nearly any occupation, even a musicians best friend. I'd put me somewhere near the middle with moments of shocking brilliance. I haven't had a moment like that in a little bit.

How about you?

I made my share of horrible mistakes that live with me to this day... 4 actually, and I've had my moments of brilliance mixed in. I often was the all-in-one guy but like you mentioned, I was very much more successful when we had built a strong team... engineering/documentation/procurement/manufacturing. Looking back on it, we did build some miraculous shit...

not that I would recommend the profession to any sane person.

This one??? I have a hard time with this. The press would never drop this if there was any truth to it. Never.

The truth is, only the people there know what actually happened, and some of them are lying. You don't know and I don't know. And as you know, if there's no proof, there's no story.

funny you use the word "real" when talking about the stock market... it's actually driven by "hope" and "fear".

Here's an incisive article explaining the economy in a bit more sophisticated way than simply reducing it to a number of the DOW.

I was under the impression that engineers had to be critical thinkers. Another myth bites the dust.
there's engineers and engineers... so many are full of bs, particularly the sales engineers. I worked for many years as a prototype design engineer. The stuff I designed had to work to specifications, fit within budget, be easy to assemble and maintain and look just like it had been mass produced.

Believing even one single bit of engineering BS in that entire design chain would result in failure of the project, or at least a substantial re-design.

In this particular case, hondo812 has an actual life, so he can't be bothered with this thread... no matter how many times he revisits it.

Of course there is no Resist movement on the Left and no Hate, nor any violence with the Antifa folks, it's just my imagination. Yuk, yuk. But there is real economic growth.

We'll let me share the real numbers.
On November 7th:
The Dow closed at 18,253
S&P closed at 2,131
NASDAQ closed at 5168

Today' s close:
Dow 22,158oughly 21%
S&P 2,498 roughly 17%
NASDAQ. 6460 roughly 25%

Can't argue with the real numbers, check the exchanges, not the Clinton News Network.

Why isn't the press all over this?? This is a major deal. Perhaps they did a follow-up and found it wasn't true. If there was any evidence that this happened it would not be buried. I think your hatred and intolerance want you to believe it.
She accused Trump and Jeffrey Epstein... Epstein served time on related charges.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/donald-trump-rape-lawsuit-dropped-230770

About a decade ago, Epstein came under investigation by local and federal authorities near his Palm Beach, Florida, home over allegations that he solicited underage girls to have sex with him at that residence and another on an island he owned in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Epstein pleaded guilty in June 2008 to two state felony charges relating to prostitution and was sentenced to 18 months in jail. He served only 13 months before being released but was required to register as a sex offender.
