I am retired at 90. For many years I made greeting cards from my images. I bought card stock from someone who is no longer in business. I would like to find someone where to buy small amounts ( less than 100) of card stock. Been shooting street photography in NYC. Unfortunately I am unable to walk so I use a motor scooter which has been provided for me by the VA. I then use the images to make greeting cards by printing and pasting the images on the card stock. I also need accompanied envelopes.

I use this company to make greeting cards and print directly on pre creased card stock . You can buy 100 count packs with envelopes and glasscine packaging . or card stock and mount photos to it like you have been doing . they can also supply templates for greeting cards .https://www.desktopsupplies.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI94y-tZfo-wIVmbjICh3YWwh7EAAYASAAEgLemfD_BwE

I started making my own frames many years ago. just wasn't satisfied with traditional frames. This one was for my daughters wedding photo. 16x20 canvas stretched into the curvy frame. To me this is just as rewarding as taking the pictures.

Very Nice Farm Boy I had a Woodworking shop for 40 years big equipment , and nice woodwork cabinets and stairs all wood . That frame is extra nice looks like a 3 piece glue up for each side from templates nice execution .

Is it advisable to uninstall Sharpen and Denoise if you have Photo AI? I am trying to free up memory on my computer and removing some unneeded plug-ins will help. I haven’t added Photo AI yet and hoping you can give me some guidance on this. Thanks.

Here is the strange thing when i went to see my status with Topaz with respect to upgrades , there was a message of my licence on Denoise AI , And Sharpen AI are good till July the message went on to say because I have Denoise AI and Sharpen AI they were giving Me Photo AI .....So I accepted it it did not cost Me anything . SO don't buy it go to Topaz and look at your dashboard they might just give it to you . Photo AI is more for thoose who do not want to do the processing just hand off to the AI no thinking as far I can tell with just a quick look . As others have said it appears to not be as precise as the seperate plugins . Topaz said eventually it "Photo AI will be the main plugin"it will be the final version more complete .

What's a TPM?

It is a Trusted Platform Module a requirement for windows 11 , From Wiki , secure hardware through integrated cryptographic keys. Newer computers have one or a series of pins to add one .Older computers not sure if there is a work around yet .My computer from this year production is compliant .

With the price of Topaz Photo AI on sale, I thought I would try it out. Three days later, I have yet to be able to use it. The symptom is always the same, it displays a two-line progress screen that says:

Loading …
Reading Metadata

That is all it ever does.

• I have tried loading in JPGs, TIFFs, and raw files from 3 different supported cameras and 1 scanner. No help.
• I have uninstalled the app, cleaned up the stray files left behind by the UI, deleted the old download, deleted temp folders, emptied the trash folder, downloaded and installed a fresh copy of Topaz, all to no avail.
• Since it never successfully reads the Metadata I checked for different versions of Exiftool.exe. There were three versions, no two with matching lengths, I got rid of the two that were not in the Topaz folder. The result – the same.

I am sure that the above is just a representative sample, but this ordeal has used up so many brain cells that can’t remember everything I did. And yes, I have contacted Topaz Support. They said that the second bullet (above) would solve the problem, so I tried it for a third or fourth time.

The only other thing I can think of is the there might be something in a DLL; however, that is something that is not in my skill set.

Does anyone have a suggestion for how I might solve this conundrum?

Are you using it as a standalone or as a filter in a raw operator like Photosghop .? i use it both ways never had a problem . I mainly use it in the current version of Photoshop . The filters are in the filter drawer of photoshop top row of Photoshop ,both Sharpen AI and Denoise AI . Gigapixel is in a different location in File drop down , Automate , Gigapixel . Also in your preferences Under Performance make sure you have checked the [Use Graphics processor] then click on Advanced settings make sure all boxes are checked ,Use open CL ..Not sure what Raw operator orv editing engine you are using .

Adobe has released the latest update to Ps, Bridge, ACR, Lr, etc. No issues downloading and installing them. They seem to work as one would expect them to work. I use the Mac installs.

I updated them all today Lost all my printing capabilities on both large format printers , nowhere in the menu Tried to reinstall both software for each printer . I get a message no useable application ,well something like that . So I reinstalled version 23.5.2 and got back all My printers , but still no printing exec in version 24.0.0 . I use File/Export for printing Menu IPF8300 to launch the printer . And use Automate/Print studio Pro to Launch the Pro4000 . Both now working on Version 23.5.2 . No where to be found on Version 24.0.0 . So if you install I would check the box not to overwrite previous version when asked just in case . I had also reinstalled latest drivers and software packages from Canon Still no printers showing up in Version 24.0.0 just the older version . So a FYI to all who print at home .Still running Windows 10 , 8 cores Intel , 48 gig of ram , medium fast RX580 AMD video card 8GB GDDR RAM .

The attached shows what my wife and her brother worked out for her Epson.

The area in the photo appears to be the capping station where the head comes to rest . What is disturbing are all the tiny ball shaped particles almost as if 2 dissimilar ink types not mixing . I received a slightly used Epson 1900 one nozzle was clogged when I checked the tanks of ink I found the black tank was from sawgrass which sells dye sub ink someone installed a non compatible ink into a pigment ink head the 2 don't mix .That liquid in the capping station doesn't look right .

I am considering trying to market some of my photograpy. Like everyone, I could use the money! I have looked at a number of different places. Stock photo businesses don't really interest me. I have looked at Smugmug, Pinterest, Etsy, Spotify, Instagram, etc. I am wanting to sell 8x10 to 30x40 prints for decorator art, wall hanging and such. Also, artistic greeting cards, etc. I am also considering the possibility of limited addition work. Starting pricing would be in the $35-50 range and up depending on size, mounting, framing.

A couple of questions; Anybody have suggestions concerning who to sell with. I am leaning towards an Etsy type service because of the individual attention I can do with it. But I may be wrong.
Also, I have read how you can get rich doing this. I am not that naive to believe that although I guess it is possible! Does anyone on the 'Hog sell their landscaping, nature, etc. and do pretty good. I don't mind working the job hard if it actually works. I have read testimonials that services provide and they sound great but I would like to hear people starting out small and/or in business for up to a year.
I appreciate any advice including "don't do it" or "you're nuts" or something else. (grin!)
Thanks
Steve

I suggest you sell through your local art shows and galleries. In order to keep your costs down you should print for yourself on a Professional printer the size determined by what you intend to sell .I am mainly a landscape photographer so I print usually 24 x 36 and larger . But birds a other wildlife always sell faster . And you want to have a range of sizes from 12 x 16 , 18 x 24 , 24 x 32 , 24 x 36 , the 12 x 16 sell quite readily to tourists that want something to put in carry on luggage. With most sales being Canvas Gallery wraps . I do not have that many sales of my own work but print daily for others . If one of my photography friends sells something it is the same as if I sold something , that is my point I make more printing for others . I was only able to do this by obtaining a broken large format printer a IPF8300 a 44 inch wide printer only needing a new head 1 of 2 . $500.00 dollars I was up and running . I now have a new Canon PRO 4000 also . My most successful seller keeps me printing every week . He has a Blog He sells from And posts new photos on Facebook a lot is sold there and his blog . The rest at Two galleries one locally and one in Cedar Key here in Florida . He has just started doing matted only paper prints along with his gallery wrapped canvases .I sell 12 x 16 Gallery wraps for $35.00 he doubles that and adds gallery commissions .

Some channels on YouTube show how to make a pinhole camera from a soda can. You can then take long exposures - like a year! The results show the different tracks of the sun. You don't need chemicals to develop the photo paper - just a scanner and a computer.

You can make a pinhole camera from your DSLR by drilling the right size hole in a spare body cap . I drill a larger hole than needed and glue from the back side of the cap a piece of thin brass and drill a cleaner pin hole. The border is from Nik .color efex pro . The brass is from Ace hardware comes in multipacks of different thicknesses .

I have a couple of questions regarding the above topic.
1. “WHITE BALANCE” color calibration
• My wife and I both shoot with Canon RPs and we are probably best described as “somewhat beyond novices”
• We both shoot in AWB for subsequent adjustment in post

2. MONITOR Color Calibration
Currently I do not print images, but images when shared are via social media. Conventional wisdom suggests that if one plans to print a lot of images (which I have started to think about) then besides investing in a "high-quality printer" it is recommended that one calibrates monitors and printers, set paper profiles etc. One assumes that irrespective of printing, even for predominantly sharing via social media following post, monitor calibration is recommended

2. I daily utilize two computers, a Dell Desktop and a Dell laptop.
3. I have three Monitors
• ~ 30 inch BenQ monitor (which I have linked to my Dell Desktop)
• ~ 16 inch Dell Laptop
• ~ 28 inch Dell monitor (that came with the desktop) but have it linked to my Dell laptop.

The above provides me with both a dual computer and dual screen capability which I utilize for a range of uses outside of Photography.
• While travelling, which we are fortunate to do frequently, I use the laptop for post editing while on the road and subsequent image sharing via social media.
• At home. I predominantly use the Dell desktop with the BenQ monitor for post LR editing.
• Not surprisingly, there is considerable color variation between the BenQ and Dell desktop monitor, as well as the Dell Laptop display and its linked Dell monitor. So, all three demonstrate a high degree of color variation.

Obviously, one cannot control what a social media viewer is looking at in terms of color because of the vast variation in how they view any shared image, but at least I can control what I share.

I have Just reviewed a couple of videos. Although both are ~ 2018 and the respective software solutions will have been updated/revised one assumes that they are still relevant
• A YT video demonstrating the SpyderCHECKER Color Chart (Ed Gregory)
• A YT video demonstrating i1 Display Pro i1 monitor calibration software (Mark Denney)

So, after this somewhat long-winded background, I would be grateful on experience with both software solutions and any observations on my hardware set up that may be adversely affecting color accuracy/calibration.

TIA

I print every day for myself and other photographers I have been doing so for about 10 years . I use a BenQ SW2700PT it is the photography Monitor and has a Hockey puck tethered to switch between B+W RGB1998 and Srgb I keep it set @ RGB 1998 and use DC1-P3 color setting also identified as D6500 The brightness is set at 21% to match what My Canon PRO4000 output brightness of printed images. I also have a BenQ EW2780 27" 1080p HDR IPS Eye-Care Entertainment Monitor SET to standard viewing . THE MONITORS do not match in Brightness but are mirrored and do match in color rendition . When someone is sitting next to Me and we are working on their image I can drag the image from my main Monitor to the standard monitor then they can see what it looks like on social media , more often than not they want the printed version to look like the standard screen in brightness . So now I can adjust exposure and brightness on the Main screen to reflect their desires .Not the monitor but the Image . I work in RGB 1998 but assign sRGB profile to images destined for social media and label it FOR WEB ONLY all printing images are in RGB 1998 and saved in client folders as fully sharpened 32 x 48 and larger Tiff files sometimes exceeding 1.3 g . I print from 12 x 16 to 40 inches X 10 feet with added wrap for gallery wrapped canvases and silks . I used to use a Getag Mcbeth I1 display 2 to profile my monitor but when windows 10 came out it is no longer supported . As " ID " stated I am playing By My eye and experience of what my printer results are . What I print is very close to what I see on My Main Monitor . I do use ICC profiles and do print in perceptual rendition normally . I always use the printers 300DPI setting and Print Studio Pro on The Canon PRO 4000 and Export on the Canon IPF 8300 printer . Hope this helps .
