I had a defective YN-568 Yongnuo flash that I got from a 3rd party on eBay. I contacted the seller. They gave me a hard time, but I know there is a 1 year warranty on these flashes. I kept emailing them and threatened to give them bad feedback if they did not take action. They finally replaced the flash. The replacement is still going strong. Make them honor the warranty. Just be persistent.
I also have the YN-565 flash and the YN622 triggers and they all work great. They make a good product, you were just unlucky. The seller needs to replace the unit.

You should not delete photos from your card in the computer. The best way to do it is by using the camera menu to format the card. That way, you have a much lesser chance of corrupting the card. Keep shooting and keep learning. You will learn a lot in this forum.

I took the card out and in computer deleted all the pictures.
Put the card back and voila ..it got working again. The second card was always in.
Not much smart advise, but maybe , it can happen to you too.

I recently ran into a huge problem with my iMac after updating my operating system. I am no longer used to fixing my computer, since switching to Apple in 2007 from Windoze, which I had to fix constantly. The point is, the customer service that I received on the phone from the people at Apple was sensational! They helped me get my computer back running perfectly. They even helped me restore my iPhoto library that has over 21,000 pictures in it. With a MS system, I would have had to pay someone a lot of money to get it working or just buy a new one. I know some of you reading this will disagree because you have the ability to fix your own computer without any tech support, but the average guy don't. I may be below average in computers, so the support I get from Apple, and the fact that the need for repairs is very rare, I am one who will stay with Apple and never go back to the "Dark Side". If you like MS products, good for you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and free to make their own choice. I made mine.

If it makes you feel any better, I was born in the US & have lived there all my life. When I went to Niagara Falls, I could not believe how rudely I was treated by those same assholes. However, you should not be hassled like that anywhere else in the US as long as you behave like any normal person. Those bastards at the Canadian border are the exception.
As for Amtrak, I agree, rent a car next visit.

The guards were bossy and shouted a lot.
I feel your pain! I am a baseball addict. I still play in an adult league, even though I am too old and have no skill any more.

I just recovered iPhoto on 2 computers (1 laptop and 1 iMac) by basically following steps previously mentioned by others. Both computers are running the latest OSX, 10.11
Basically, just do the following:

Go to App Store > Purchases > iPhoto App > Install or Upgrade

After it installs, go to your application folder and open iPhoto. You will be asked to choose or create a photo library. Just choose the original one and it will take care of the rest.

When my boys were growing up, I used to encourage them to get as many of their friends together as the could, even bring their parents if they could, (but rarely did that happen) to meet at the the local park to play some baseball. My youngest son was sometimes able to get one or 2 of his teachers to meet us, and I would play with them. I enjoyed teaching them the game as much as playing. It seemed the older my boys got, the harder it was to get the kids to come out to play. That was sad, but my boys still have fond memories of those games.
As for me, at 67 years old, I still play in a 35+ Saturday league, in spite of the fact that what little skill I once had is now long gone. I still love the game and I have a lot of fun playing it, but it is a shame that today's kids think playing sports is about xbox and playstation.
Today, kids have too much, yet have so little at the same time. I think that's why so many of them are so screwed up. No video game can teach them what we learned on the sandlots.

Shit!!! Captain, a couple of years ago, you posted something that taught me and others all about this stuff, and cleared up all the mis-information and just plain garbage I had read here on this very subject prior to that post. Now they are trying to scramble my brain again.
I am having a hard time remembering all the names on here to ignore, while taking advice from guys like you, MT Shooter and others. Some of the others that gave out good information, no longer even post here because they get fed up with the likes of guys like the very ones that are arguing with you. It's a shame, but don't give up! This site needs you.

Dave

P.S. If you think Capt. C & MT Shooter are wrong about any photography related subject, DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE ARGUING WITH THEM!!! You are confusing people.
I am sorry, but that is 100% incorrect. they are not equal, they are not the same and one has little - actually NO- relation to the the other.

Occasionally, I forget to flatten layers. The only way I can tell that I forgot, is to look at the size of the file. If, for example, it is a much larger file than my properly flattened file, I know I screwed up and forgot to flatten it. Just by looking at the image, I can't tell, but my hard drive knows what I did.

Bykster, I think you created an awesome image! I really like it, especially your 2nd one. I do think the skin tones should be just slightly toned down, but not too much. As for the dress, I think you are getting very close to perfect. I hope you will show us your final edit. I think it is already a masterpiece.

While nothing in life is perfect, this site has helped me learn so much about photography in the few years that I have been a member. I still have much more to learn, but I've come a long way, thanks to this site and the tremendous knowledge of my fellow members. As mentioned, it is also a great source of entertainment.

I've been on the Hog for awhile now and I just wanted to give a high-fives to the folks that run this site. I don't know of any other site (but I'm sure there are some) the lets you post pics, view others pics, sell stuff, comment on stuff. On the Hog you can get good information on photography techniques/equipment, post processing, computer hardware gear, etc.

Have a technical question; chances are you'll find an answer here. Well, the list goes on. I have learned so much just from this site and met some cool folks too.

It's an overall wealth of information. Most of the people here provide excellent feedback and are not critical, and they stick to the subject.
Anyhow, I could go on, but let's give a SHOUT out to our administrators for their efforts and let them know how much we care and enjoy this site.

PS this is probably in the wrong section...sorry...
I've been on the Hog for awhile now and I just wan... (show quote)
