Since Google is no longer supporting Picasa, I am looking for a similar piece of software to replace it. Nothing too complicated, but has basic features to edit photos and print them. Thanks for any advice.
Picasa still works for editing. Use google to send out albums. I use it daily. Works great.

Welcome to the UHH. I live just south of NH in Amesbury, MA. Went over to Hampton Beach today and the changes are many, and more in the development stages. Million dollar homes are being built all along the coast. A new one at Seabrook beach at the Hampton end is being built with a price of $12 mil for construction. Salisbury Beach is showing promise also.

Just upgraded Windows 7 to 10 on my main desktop. It's an I7 with 16GB RAM, 3 SSDs, 3 monitors, 2 printers, a flat bed scanner, a SCSI film scanner and a 50 Mb internet connection. The entire installation took 25 minutes! (timed) including download. to prepare, I updated Win 7 with the latest patches and downloaded Win 10 drivers for my peripherals (just in case, but not needed) prior to starting. Absolutely no glitches. Everything works perfectly - all three monitors (including calibration), desktop is perfect (all icons exactly where they were), all HDs the same, and every ap I've tried including all the office suite (including Outlook). PS, LR work perfectly. I declined Cotana installation and took less than 5 minutes to pick my mail client, browser, etc. Total including customization - 30 minutes, and everything is substantially faster. Was it facilitated by SSD and a relatively fast Internet connection and good preparation? Sure, but after upgrading 3 machines to 10 now, no reason to fear this release. If I encounter problems later, I'll post them, but for now, it couldn't have been more painless.

I had much the same success when I converted my desktop and laptop about five or six months ago. I believe if you to all the updates and follow the instructions, everything will fall into place and you will be successful with the upgrade. tHANKs

I will have Solar installed next month. No cost to me and the use rate will remain frozen for twenty years. I expect to save around 20%. The savings will grow each year as utility rates increase.

This is the best news I have read about Picasa. I have over 18,000 images in the program and I have taught myself how to maneuver within the editing areas. I plan to make another set of backup disks as insurance
to protect what I have now. As long as I can use my current picasa program, I will be all set. tHANKs

We had minus 12 degrees at midnight and 52 degrees at noon the next day. I never remember such a degree swing in twelve hours. Last year at this time we had snow piles over nine feet, today I can walk on the grass. The snowblower is at the ready. tHANKs

FWIW - we are $1.68.... I am waiting to fill up at .32 like I used to!!!!! :)

When I was pumping gasoline, for $2.00 you would drive away with ten gallons and we would clean your windshield and give you a free glass. That was over fifty years ago.

Hi Friends. I hope the holidays were great for everyone. Sounds like folks found a few new "toys" under the tree this year. I have a question related to storage and backup. EHDs are known to fail...as several folks have said. I'm wondering if anyone uses a service like Carbonite to back up their photos in place of an EHD. I realize that you pay Carbonite a monthly service fee, but I'm wondering if just using such a service makes more sense than buying external hard drives which may or may not fail, at some point. I use Lightroom almost exclusively. Will Carbonite make it simple to access photos which can then be edited in LR? Thanks for the expert help.

I have used Carbonite for a few years for around $59. per year. A year ago in October I had a major crash and within two days I had everything back up and running on my new hard drive. I also backup all my photos, over 10K on disks and keep them in file cabinets to protect them. I happy with the steps I have taken to protect photos.

I see no need to part with my D7100 yet.

Agree, here in northern mass the D7100 is my favorite. Heading out to BJs in Portsmouth to get my gas for $1.74 per gallon. With the savings I can afford a new camera in
the summer.

Walmart is closing out their camera departments. Stop by your local store and see what is left. I'm surprised they
are letting the department look so depressed. To me all the prices look well below cost.
