I use the Minolta 1.4x and the 2.8x tc's with the Minolta 200mm f2.8 apo G hi speed, and the 80-200mm f2.8 apo G hi speed with good results. with each I mostly use a monopod. with the 200mm version good results were easy with both tc's hand held. the camera was the Sony a-77 slt.

one of my combos is a Sony a-77 slt with a 200mm f 2.8 apo G hi-speed. and a 2x tc. here are a few examples.

there are some differences between fx and dx cameras, iq is not one of them.canon made a couple of pro cameras in the aps-s format.

can't we keep it simple?
I have a 24mp fx, and a 24mp dx camera. except for a dx wide angle the rest of my lenses are fx.
with my dx cameras I get the sweet spot with full mps. with my G F2.8 lenses I get excellent iq from both cameras using the 1.4x and 2.0x tc's.
I also have a Sony 500mm mirror lens with my fx camera and my 1.4x tc I get good quality ad auto focus.
I've given my equipment many workouts so I know what it will do.
i'm also into medium format and have to deal with crop factors. a 645d camera has a smaller sensor than a 645 film camers but uses thee same lenses.

there are300+ million at the table waiting for dinner. how to keep food coming to market? the people in power had better find a way.
today they can't guarantee 100% worker safety, but people can't hold off eating until they can. we can't keep plowing produce under or killing off our piling up live stock. throwing a few dollars at farmers and stockmen won't do it. we have to find a way to keep the food coming and reaching the people.
I don't know how but, we had better find people who can figure a way. failure is not an option.
