One method that works pretty well if you are shooting from a tripod is image averaging. You can get detailed info free here:

I shoot with a D70s; I have had it several years, since they first came out, and I have shot litererally thousands of pictures with it. There are things I wish it could do automatically like shoot more than three bracketed shots but I usually do that sort of thing manually anyhow. The camera has some limitations, but if you think about it the limitations are between your ears because there is always a workaround. I regularly get beautiful 13 X 19 and larger prints and 13 X 40 panos from my D70s.

You can keep yourself in the poorhouse if you upgrade every time a new camera, computer, or version of software comes out. A million dollar sports car will out perform an old Ford Fairlane in many ways but if you are wanting to get from point A to point B reliably, comfortably and without a lot of expense the Ford is a excellent choice.

You have a good, reliable cameraÂ…plug your eye, your brain, and your imagination into it and go make some wonderful pictures.
