No it is a statue. All week long the grandchildren kept trying to catch it move. It wasn't until later on during the week that we realized it wasn't a real owl. I think I remember reading about the significance of the statue at one time but I can't remember what it was. I am researching to find the answer.

These pictures were taken at different times of the day. Both were in low light conditions. I did not have a tripod with me on this trip so I steadied myself the best I could on the railing of the deck steps.

Thank you for commenting. This one was in the back yard of the cottage which we had rented for the week. I had a chance to take practice photographing the lighthouse at different times of the day. Th lighthouse cottage where we stayed was a wonderful place to spend the week. It had 3 stories and each one had its own deck or screened porch. Wonderful view of the lighthouse and provided a chance to photograph when there were not a lot of tourists.

I took my 18-200 with me when we went. I also took a 24mm pancake lense for low light situations inside and out. Both are Canons. Served me well.
