Since you are a newbie, just curious if you understand what CoC is and why as a beginner you think its important to calculate it for your specific camera and lens. Is it just an intellectual exercise on your part? What are you hoping this knowledge will do for your photography?

mwsilvers; Didn't know if it was important or not. Right now, it's just I.E (as in intellectual exercise) although I'm far from being such in this case. Mainly, I'm interested in using the tablet as a remote control for the Canon camera. I wouldn't mind seeing some articles on this subject.

Canon Rebel T3 series has a Circle of Confusion of 0.019mm

Thanks for your reply, Searcher. The app I have doesn't show the CoC for the Canon T3. Apparently the app isn't as up-to-date as yours, but it was the only one I found for the HP Slate tablet with Android OS. I'll save the info on the computer to use it at a later date, ok? Since I'm a newbie at this, I may never have to worry about it, anyway.
I'll probably see more on this and other topics of great interest for the Canon Rebel T3 in the future. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them. LOL!

Hello and welcome to the Uhh forum if you post a picture and check store original you will receive more help. If you are talking about the back ground in a photo an example would be very helpful. May I suggest going to the search feature at the top of this page and type in your question. Saying hello from Pittsburgh.

northsidejoe, thanks for your reply. Will have to check into it a little further and get back, ok? There's an app for Android tablets that can calculate the DOF for just about any camera and lens (so the ads say). Just trying to get a little more info, ok?

Was looking at several articles about DOF calculations and was wondering about the term ' circle of confusion' or CoC.
Am trying to figure out the CoC of the Canon REBEL T3. As it sounds, I am a newie to DSLR LOL! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
P.S. The lens I am using is a Canon EF 35-80mm 1:4-5.6 III, if that's any help.

When my EOS UTILTY stopped working a week ago, I uninstalled it and reintalled it believing it was corrupted. But still the problem is there. I called canon tech support to help me reinstall it. The same thing happened. Have any of here in UHH expirience this tech problem? Any help will be appreciated.

Am a newbie myself on this subject, but have a suggestion, ok? Is your camera connected to the computer? Know it sounds dumb, but checking out my program, it won't open without the camera connected and turned on. Hope this helps. OOPS! Didn't read far enough on the subject. Sorry about that and please excuse my remarks, ok?

Am just starting out with the Canon DSLR. Enjoy all the info about that camera in the forums. Try to save as many as I can for future use.
