By the way, I do shoot in RAW & JPEG.

The G12 does have all the features and is extremely capable. I was torn between carrying my Nikon D90 and all the accessories back to Europe or going lighter -- a lot lighter -- with the G12. The G12 won out mainly because we were gone for three weeks. However, with that said, I sure do love my Nikon! :-D

There are a lot of places online to get info. I've done a lot of business with Adorama and know they're trustworthy. That's the only reason I mention them by name.

I just purchased the Canon G12 as a walk-around camera. Although not exactly "a pocket camera," it did fit nicely in a small fanny pack, and is, I think, far more capable than most P&Ss but can be used as such. At least, I carried it and used it as a point and shoot on a recent three week vacation and it performed quite well.

Interestingly, I picked it up refurbished (by Canon) at ADORAMA (Link attached.). It looked brand new when I received it and operated as new. The good news: it only cost a bit more than $400. I'm quite pleased.

Gentlemen, gentlemen simmer down.

Being new to this posting business, I was just trying to educate myself on the pros and cons of putting some indication of who took the photo (something, ironically, I don't even yet know how to do!) ... not start a war!

Was the question inappropriate?

That was as close as I could get due to a fence. The cropping suggestion is a good thought. Thanks.
