Thank you folks: tested All Synced Photos by removing 3 images. After removal, searched within the Library for removed photos. All 3 synced photos no longer in All Synced Photos and remained in catalog.
Thanks for the reply,
That's really the issue, I have one synced collection with 20 photos and no other collection that is synced. I do not understand why there are 320 additional images in all synced photos unless they were synced outside of collections.
If I remove or delete all synced photos in that folder will they be deleted from my catalog? I guess I could test the action and remove 1-2 from folder and then search for the same image and see if it was removed from the library
I have used 8 GB or 20 GB of Adobe Cloud. I see that I have 340 photos in Lr Classic 'All Synced Photos'. Exploring my Collections, I found only one Collection that had the 'sync' icon to the left of the Collection name.
Am I able to delete the 340 images in 'All Synced Photos' and still maintain those images in my catalog?

I just got a MacBook Pro with the M-1 chip and Retina display to compliment 2 Mac desk tops (27" and 21") 2 iPads and 2 iPhones. My wife uses half of them and I the other.
Once you go Mac you never look back. I switched from windoze over 15 years ago.
Try using your Mac book pro. It's not all that difficult.
Could not have said it better.
Great advice ... use it for a few weeks - you won't go back.

All other criteria are met perfectly ... composition, alignment, focus, lighting, subject, emotion, colors, lasting moment, DOF and exposure - very nice!
[quote=lonedog]I am going nuts here with trying to clean up my dups.
I have used and routinely use Teekesselchen. It takes a wee bit of use to get comfortable with it. The duplicate search creates a Collection called Duplicates marking dupes with the same keyword ... Then it's just a matter of you manually vetting the marked images and unchecking 'keepers'.
Recommendation: create a test folder and copy 10-15 images (purposely including duplicate images) from your library into it. Then highlight that folder and run Teekesselchen to see how it works (suggested so you understand dupes are not automatically deleted)

Thank you ... will check out Carbon Copy - just want to use a trusted application to manually 'mirror' main primary photo drive as a backup monthly. Time Machine and Backblaze should more than cover a restore of all files in the event of my Mac getting toasted. FreeFileSync has been fine - no frills.
I appreciate everyone's feedback

I essentially have specific folders setup and my exports typically are Jpegs. There is an option in Lr Export as one creates a preset that includes "Choose folder later" where in the export process Lr opens and asks where will exported images be exported to ... that's were I can name the subfolder and then Under 'File Naming' section I can edit the default and add Rename to "Folder' (with the folder defined in step the first step) I just can't get it to work.
Bob ... the Cole Classroom link I shared claims it can be done (I think)

What 1234 said. I still use LR6 & when go to export, what ever I entered last time I exported is still in the boxes. So you would just change the info you need to (I think).
You are correct - however I work on different projects so I am trying to automate exports ...
1040 pixels for this or that
2080 pixels for my website
680 pixels for text and email sharing
Presets would make it a little more efficient and convenient
Thanks
I am trying to create an Export File Preset with the intent of exporting different photo shoot images to a folder on the Desktop. I would like to:
1. have the preset prompt me to add a folder name
2. then use that folder name as the exported photo's file name (it should automatically add -1, -2, -3 etc)
I followed Cole's article but struggle getting the file name added automatically ..

I'm a belt and suspenders person and monthly backup my photos to a 2nd external drive. I use Free File Sync and wanted to obtain some feedback of what UHH members use. (I also use Time Machine and BackBlaze for local and cloud backup). Title should be ... "fee or free"
Thank you, Happy New Year

Yes. You need to put iCloud on your PC so you can access them. If using a Mac then it’s already there. You just have to set up your iCloud account on the Mac to match your phone.
Agree ... ("that reminds me") what workflow do members use to import iCloud photos on the Mac to Lightroom desktop. My current process is:
1. locate and select iCloud pics
2. go to File > Export and export photos to a folder on the desktop
3. import those photos as an 'Add' using Lightroom
1. Anyone have a simpler workflow?
2. Anyone use Mac Automation to automate step 2 above
3. Is there any means to have Lightroom 'look' at the default iCloud Photos Library location in Mac under Pictures?
4. Anyone use Photo Takeout?
