Is this one of those clocks that chirps on the hour? A relative gave me on with barking dogs several years ago because I'm a dog lover. I didn't keep it because I didn't want dog barking on the hour. The same would be true of a chirping bird clock.

What is "crogery shopping"? I've heard of grocery shopping, but not crogery shopping. Grocery shopping is buying food. I think you meant to say grocery, not crocery.

I would pick it up with a paper towel, if available, or toilet paper and wrap it very well before putting it in my purse. I would disinfect it when I got home and run it through the dryer at a high temperature.

Cell phones are for communicating (talking, messaging). Cameras are for taking pictures. I have a Canon PowerShot S95 that I carry with me at all times. I can adjust aperture, speed, ISO, etc. Can't do that on a phone.
