My opinion is yes, without doubt.

Usually the train of thought on UHH is which program to use. The comparisons are usually one against another. Maybe Elements vs Photoshop. Or Lightroom vs ON1, etc.

The (usually) unnoticed trend at Adobe is that the parts of the $10 plan are being linked together. Each update brings stronger links. Photoshop CC, Lightroom (mobil) CC, Lightroom Classic (disk) CC and Portfolio are a bundle. One day you may be on a "make a print" work flow. Another day you want to put a dozen images in an online Gallery to share. A different day you want to add a recent favorite to your permanent Portfolio. One day you take a picture with your phone and want it in Lightroom Classic. There is a way to do that automatically.

Top it off, Topaz can be integrated into both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop to make the system even more capable.

I've finally decided to buy the Fuji X-T3 w/18-55mm - financial stretch but satisfied with choice. Dilemma is:
Local price = $1699 black body & lens + 8.75% CA sales tax - no extras, buy good people.
Adorama = same price w/ accessories bundle no tax - if I buy B4 April 15
B&H = same price + abbreviated bundle - no tax
I have never dealt with the online retailers and am a little nervous after reading a few negative reviews. Yet many of you seasoned UHHers seem to have good luck buying from online camera retailers.
Comments & Help would not be turned away.
As always many thanks.

When I purchased my Nikon D5 a couple of years ago, I was faced with the same decision. Do I save a lot of tax money and buy from B&H or do I support my local camera shop and pay the taxes. I decided to support my local camera shop. they threw in an extra battery and a few other things that would have cost over $300.00. While my taxes was a lot more, they showed they value my purchasing it there.

That is just me. Not to say I have not purchased from B&H, I have.

Me too. My wife and I met 42 years ago at a St. Pat's party. We married one year later on St. Pat's day.

Hope you had a very happy anniversary. We did.

Figure of speech.

I understand. Just wish they had not lost their best player in the beginning of the year. They would have been a tougher opponent and may have won a few more games. Kentucky is always good. I love it when UK beats Duke.

My dearly beloved Kentucky Wildcats won again last night, beating the hated Missouri Tigers, taking their record to 22-4 and increasing their odds for a #1 seed in one of the NCAA brackets.

How can you hate the beloved Missouri Tigers? They are easy to beat this year.

I shoot mostly Wildlife (birds). I'm looking to step up to a nikon d-500 and a telephoto lens. My budget could fit a tamron 150-600 G2. The specs on the lens says full frame format. The d500 is a crop sensor and i'm wondering if I am making the right choice on this combo. Any help? Thanks

I have the D500 and the Sigma 150-600 Sport lens. It is a great combination, you will be very pleased with your results.

I asked about a telephoto lens for Nikon d3400 and seemed like a lot of folks told me not to waste my time. Recommendations were to buy a different camera body but that cost a lot of money and money is tight. What does everyone think about the Nikon 7200? And sigma 150-600

I have the Sigma 150 - 600 Sport lens. Excellent lens, definitely worth the money. Do not know anyone that has the 150 - 600 contemporary. It is about half the price of the sports lens and probably a very good lens too.

The level of stupidity in the US is amazing, including the people serving
on the juries as well.

It's time again for the annual "Stella Awards"! For those unfamiliar with
these awards, they are named after 81-year-old *Stella Liebeck* who spilled
hot coffee on herself and successfully sued the McDonald's in New Mexico,
where she purchased coffee. You remember, she took the lid off the coffee
and put it between her knees while she was driving. Who would ever think
one could get burned doing that?

That's right; these are awards for the most outlandish lawsuits and
verdicts in the U.S. You know, the kinds of cases that make you scratch
your head. So keep your head scratcher handy.

Here are the Stella's of the year:

SEVENTH PLACE

Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas was awarded $80,000 by a jury of her
peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running
inside a furniture store. The store owners were understandably surprised
by the verdict, considering the running toddler was her own son.

SIXTH PLACE

Carl Truman, 19, of Los Angeles, California won $74,000 plus medical
expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Truman
apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he
was trying to steal his neighbor's hubcaps.

FIFTH PLACE

Terrence Dickson, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was leaving a house he had just
burglarized by way of the garage. Unfortunately for Dickson, the automatic
garage door opener malfunctioned and he could not get the garage door to
open. Worse, he couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting
the garage to the house locked when Dickson pulled it shut. Forced to sit
for eight, count 'em, EIGHT days and survive on a case of Pepsi and a large
bag of dry dog food, he sued the homeowner's insurance company claiming
undue mental Anguish. Amazingly, the jury said the insurance company must
pay Dickson $500,000 for his anguish. We should all have this kind of
anguish.

FOURTH PLACE

Jerry Williams, of Little Rock, Arkansas, garnered 4th Place in the
Stella's when he was awarded $14,500 plus medical expenses after being
bitten on the butt by his next door neighbor's beagle - even though the
beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. Williams did not get as
much as he asked for because the jury believed the beagle might have been
provoked at the time of the butt bite because Williams had climbed over the
fence into the yard and repeatedly shot the dog with a pellet gun.

THIRD PLACE

Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, because a jury ordered a
Philadelphia restaurant to pay her $113,500 after she slipped on a spilled
soft drink and broke her tailbone. The reason the soft drink was on the
floor: Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during
an argument.

SECOND PLACE

Kara Walton, of Claymont, Delaware sued the owner of a night club in a
nearby city because she fell from the bathroom window to the floor,
knocking out her two front teeth. Even though Ms. Walton was trying to
sneak through the ladies room window to avoid paying the $3.50 cover
charge, the jury said the night club had to pay her $12,000.... oh, yeah,
plus dental expenses.

FIRST PLACE

This year's runaway First Place Stella Award winner was: Mrs. Merv
Grazinski, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who purchased a new 32-foot
Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, from an OU football game,
having driven on to the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and
calmly left the driver's seat to go to the back of the Winnebago to make
herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway,
crashed and overturned. Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued
Winnebago for not putting in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually
leave the driver's seat while the cruise control was set. The Oklahoma
jury awarded her - are you sitting down?

$1,750,000

PLUS a new motor home. Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a
result of this suit, just in case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who
might also buy a motor home.
If you think the US court system is out of control, pass this one on.

Smaller apertures simply let in less light than larger apertures. Smaller apertures provide a larger depth of field. Depth of field is the range at which objects in the scene appear to be in acceptable focus. The general rule of thumb is that of the total depth of field, 1/3 will be in front of the object which is "perfectly" focused and 2/3 will be behind that object.

There is no such thing as focused and out of focus light.

We are so looking forward to being grandparents.
The wife was starting to think it would never happen.
The baby was actually conceived on Nov. 22 which also happens to be my wife's B-day, they did tell us on Christmas but we were'nt allowed to tell anyone till they found out what the gender was. So I did hold up my end of the deal by not telling and now I can tell the world....lol.....
So looking forward to the photo opps. I need to find a newborn locally to practice on. Anyone in the Charlotte NC area have one available??? lol just kidding.

Fill flash (reduced intensity) will help. This is an excellent opportunity for you to do controlled tests with a willing subject. I put my mother under a tree in 1984 when I was learning how to use fill flash with a film slr

Depending on circumstances, you should also consider positioning your subjects out of direct sunlight. Got any examples you can post in this thread?

I had my D850+300PF out shooting in an on-again off-again rain yesterday and when it really started to pour I tucked it inside my raincoat for about 15 minutes as I walked back to the car. Once home I found that the top side LCD was wet inside and not displaying and the final series of shot were all dark grey. Probably from the high humidity inside my coat??.

I opened all the flaps, removed the lens and dried it in a vented cardboard box at a carefully controlled 100 degrees farenheight. Now everything except the top LCD is working just fine so I can use it but it’s less convenient and I like to get it fixed.

Has anyone had a similar failure and had it successfully repaired? If so by whom and at what cost?

Thanks in advance,
iSequoia

I could be wrong, but I believe that Nikon will tell you that the D850 is water resistant, not water proof. My friend has a D5 that he thought was water proof only to find out that the D5 is water resistant. Cost $485.00 to fix fried electronics; thank goodness he has insurance to cove it.
