Not a camera or lens, but a book. I went looking for another book but spotted this one. I guess I have BAS as well an GAS. I must have fifteen books in in the "waiting to read" queue already. I'm beyond help like most of us on UUH! I am parting with my Sony NEX gear and sticking with Fuji. Not a matter of quality: I just find the Sony camera a bit small and fiddly. No arguments about Sony v. Fuji intended here, just a preference.
I sold a lot of OM10s back in the day as well as a lot of the manual adaptors. They were always getting lost. I was never impressed with the quality of the bodies. Their saving grace was the lenses. :-)
I think everyone has found this thread useful. I know I have. Enjoy your reading and the best on your recovery.
We used to sell pro video cameras (the ones with three tubes). Someone painted the demonstration background a very dark red. The noise was incredible and didn't do much for the demo. We had to take the camera outside to demonstrate them, complete with the Umatic tape deck. Anybody remember those?
Thanks for the link Jerry. I have just passed it on to a friend. She is very interested in how the mind and emotions operate in daily life.
They have ceased producing cars in Australia. Too small a market, many cheap imports and the high Australian dollar killed the industry. Ford and Toyota have ceased manufacturing here as well.
I use Optec wrist straps with my mirrorless Sonys and Fujis. I usually have a bag or briefcase with me as well.
I have "The Photographer's Guide To The X100S" Alexander S. White. I find it quite useful. Lots of detail along with some general picture taking advice that is relevant to the camera.
Never mind all of these photo processing updates. I'm still waiting for a firmware up date for my Leica M3!
You don't need anyone's "permission" to stick to jpeg or to do the most elaborate PP imaginable if as long as you are pleased with the results. ;)
I have a X100X and bought a used XPro 1 with the 1.4/35 yesterday. I'll get a Leica M adaptor in order to use my collection of M lenses. I am using one on my Sony NEX 6 and it works well.
The facial expression is much like Abbott's as well.
Thanks for the responses. They are pretty much what I expected, however I appreciate the support. There is a lot of APS-C gear out there. It just looks more "impressive". I've used everything from 8X10 to Minox over the years. i might even bring one of my film Leicas anyway to shoot along with digital.
I would like to attend various workshops, (mainly landscape). I was wondering if I would be considered"not serious enough" if I turned up with my Sony NEX gear. I don't want to carry a heavy DSLR if I don't have to. I would, of course, ask the advice of the tour leaders. Just curious if anyone has used smaller systems at any workshops.
Thanks. :?:
If 747's disappear, I'll miss the top deck. It is much more pleasant up there than down below. The stairs are very good for exercise when flying from Melbourne to LA! 777's are not nearly an much fun.
