Here are some of my former camera collection. First is a Schmidt Detective camera (1880) this is the first camera that could be hand held and was so Patent, about 20 of them still exist. The other is a German camera which is also super rare. The others are some example of the beautiful American craftsmanship of the time. It like a car now and the beauty of a 1930 Ford.

That's quite a collection. Thanks for sharing it with us.

A few years ago I was taking a photo of a great blue heron. on her nest, high up in a tree. I discovered two fledglings looking through her legs. That was a nice surprise.

To all who looked and commented, many thanks. For years I was watching and photographing birds and it kind of got me into carving them. When you carve a bird you have to learn much more about it for the accuracy. I found it improved my birdwatching enjoyment, and my knowledge of birds.

Do you do any of these to sell? It is beautiful.

thanks for the comment. I carved many on commission. The carvings I have now are my samples. I don't carve much anymore. Due to father time, my hand dexterity is not as it was, and it more difficult for me accomplish what I want to do. Ill work on simpler things. Again, thanks again for looking and commenting.

Thanks for looking and commenting. And thanks to all of you who gave me such nice comments about the carvings. Lately I can't carve anymore as I used to. Father time catching up.

OK, tell me you didn't carve that Dragon Fly? Really fantastic work!

Everything was carved or made. Yes even the dragonfly. I am enclosing the dragonfly. Thanks for the nice comment.

Year's ago I took a photograph of a Downy woodpecker on cat tails, at a local marsh. I finally decided to make a carving of it and here's the result. This was done about 10 years ago.
