Sounds as if you had wonderful grandparents also! I strive to be as terrific as they were but know if I'm only half that great, my grandboys are very lucky.

Thanks CardinallLady (sorry I just found your reply). I forgot to sharpen my picture so went back and did so. I think this shows it even a bit better.
Sharp photo, even sharper! Careful, don't get cut!

Thank you all! The Vets who have served, families and friends that supported them and everyone who has looked and commented. Our community is extremely proud of them. They have "moved" all of us! It is wonderful to share this with the whole world!

Venus is currently the brightest star (well Planet) in the Western sky, it never gets to far above the horizon. It always stays close to the sun, so its only visible a couple hours after sunset...then it sets also. You maybe thinking of Mars as the planet nearing closest approach...Frankly, I'm not sure where Mars is in the heavens currently.
I think that!s supposed to be Mars on the 27th. It's supposed to be very close to the moon. Close enough for UHH's to take photos of them together.
Very nice, James! Quite a bit of inspiration in this thread!
Thanks, Erv. I think it was just me trying to do without a tripod. Mine gave out and they are such a hassle. I thought I was not moving but I really paid attention last night and tried to set the camera down and prop with a towel to keep steady. I have a remote thing I've never used. I should try it out and get me a new tripod.
Thanks! The teens in this community have restored my faith in this generation also.
Thank you so much! We think the youth of today are very self centered and feel entitled. Our county is the poorest county in Indiana, rural and though there are a few spoiled rich kids, that is far from the norm. Most of the time, they only get what they earn and family life for some is not good with this economy. We have many help programs, free lunches for anyone under 18 at the Lions Club, free Art creation at the Art Guild, teen programs at the churches, library programs. We focus on the youth where they can help themselves and each other, not necessarily just a hand out. In the past few years I have been amazed at some of our youth and have a new perspective on the obstacles this generation faces at home and in the community. It takes a community to raise this generation, just as we were. Many don't have that community any longer. We are working on it but have a long way to go. Thanks for looking and commenting.
Nice shots! That's what we have thei most of!
