I hate to say it but for me USPS does better service than
both UPS and FEDEX. I have ordered stuff from all over the
U.S. and USPS delivers it within 2 to 3 days most all the time. Ordered something from Fla. on a Saturday last year
and was on my doorstep Monday, regular mail.

I had the same problem with FedEx 3 weeks ago.

You mean Fed Up with Express. I do a lot of buying and selling on eBay and Amazon. I ordered a camera and it took over two weeks to get to Maryland from California. The tracking number was useless, no updates until the day I received it. Turns out the seller used FedEx "home" deliver, that and ground are slower than can be. And I hear that UPS has the same low level of service at their more reasonable price points.

On the other hand I ship everything United States Parcel Service priority mail and have never had anything to take longer than three business days. Much more reliable, better tracking and cheaper than the private shippers.

AND if you are an Amazon Prime member and you choose that option you get your package in two days or less. Every time.

A question?
Then ask the question in the topic title!
That's what it's for.
We don't want the forum to look like this.

You can change it for up to an hour.
Check above your name to see the word "edit topic" or something similar.

Title it "multiple exposures" or something like that.
I'd be interested to see the answers myself, though you could use the search function.
That's where using an accurate topic title gets useful.
Cheers and welcome back!

I hike and bike as well and find that I use this Lowepro fanny pack most of the time. Room for 2-3 lenses, a flash, some small accessories. But I never put my camera body in a bag, always in hand (well, not while riding but close at hand)

Well, as a rider myself, I find the weatherproofing and light weight of the OM-D models very appealing. Gave up carrying my E-3 because of the weight and now carry a Fuji X10 in a Ziploc.

If you don't want to spend a lot of time in post processing you will find it impossible to beat the IQ of Olympus out of camera JPEGs. Beautiful,
natural,colors.

Since the APS-C sensor is smaller, lenses can have a smaller diameter than FX lenses and still cover the sensor area with light. But the golden triangle is the same. f:4 at 1/100th is still the same regardless of sensor size. Shooting with 35mm film or medium format, the rules are the same.

While the 50mm lens approximates the magnification of the human eye, it is considered the normal focal length only for a "full-frame" camera.
"Normal" is very roughly the measurement of the diagonal of the sensor or film you are using.
For cameras with different sensor sizes, what is considered normal would would be different.
APS-C is somewhere around 30mm.
4/3rds- about 25mm.

This is something that has intrigued me. A 50mm lens on my Canon APS-C body and on my Olympus 4/3 body have different effective focal lengths yet when I look through the view finders they have neadly identical fields of view, the images match perfectly with what I am seeing through my other open eye. I figure the VF on most cameras must be designed to allow that.

Hey ocbeyer, I lived in Baltimore for 34 years... In & around the west side of town except for a few years in Reisterstown just before getting transferred to Georgia in 92...

Small world. I'm a "Westie" as well, live in Ellicott City. I like my town but Georgia sure sounds nice. ;)

Hey, I have that same head model, bought it a long time ago at a pawn shop. I used it for my twin lens and my 4x5.
It's a great head, and that is a good price.

To the OP: You need to realize that some "fluid heads" are for video cameras and do not go in to portrait orientation. Then you will need a "L" bracket also

My Bogen Manfotto is a fluid head and while it won't allow me to shoot in portrait I just crop for that aspect. But it is an excellent head for shooting at the car races - tracks smoothly and steadily. And it also comes in handy when I do shoot video.

Be careful about buying used. Not to say that you can't find a decent one for your needs, but buying, sight unseen, off of someplace like eBay, can be a crap shoot. That said, KEH, Adorama & B&H also have a presence on eBay & should not be ruled out...A good still photography tripod will not have the "lower support braces" connecting the legs as they limit the useability of the pod being used on uneven surfaces....

Right, why buying from the local classifieds (including Craig's list) is such a good way to buy - you can see it, feel it and try it out before buying. And avoid the shipping fees. That being said I buy EVERYTHING used, including lenses and cameras, usually off of Amazon and to date have had nary a problem. Amazon has a great return policy if there are any problems.

Buy used. Good tripods are not like cameras, no electronics, they last a long, long time. You can find a lot on Craigslist in local metro areas and you can try them before you buy. I have a Bogen Manfrotto combo much like you asked for, sturdy as a tank, cost me $100.

Here is just one example, $100:

Very innovative. I've tried to cook up something similar with less success. Fishing rod holder? Hmm...

One of the great photographers of the last century, Aubrey Bodine, lived and worked right here in Maryland. He was quite up front about how he kept numerous B&W negative transplarancies of clouds, suns, moons etc that he would layer into many of his photos, many of those award winners.
