Underwater housings are specific to camera model, no one can help you if you don't tell us what camera/lens combo you are taking under water.

OR get a waterproof point and shoot, depth guarantees are also camera specific. Most probably a cheaper route than a dedicated DSLR housing.

I have used a Canon D10 Point & Shoot for several years. Unless you are trying to get BBC nature program quality, this camera does a decent job. With decent light and not too much debris in the water, you get pleasing shots. It is also a very good camera out of water and it is drop resistant.

While I was shooting water birds, I saw this little guy out of the corner of my eye. It moved in and out of view, but I finally got a couple of shots without too many cattails in the way. Anyone have an ID? I thought it might be some kind of wren but my bird book pics indicate it's a sparrow of some sort.

It appears to be a Song Sparrow (Salt Marsh form) Since you are in a marsh in California, that seems to be a reasonable guess. Great shot. Crisp and beautiful.

I recently saw a print on aluminum from Aluminyze.com. Does anybody have experience with them? How does Aluminyze compare with others like Meridian and Bay Photo? Thanks for all input.

I haven't used the other vendors that you mentioned but have used Aluminyze several times and was very pleased. I first learned about them because they had a very good deal on Groupon. If you can get a Groupon deal you will get a low price which will let you see what they do without spending much.

If you please....
We're flying to Maui (staying in Kehei) for 13 days (10 actual days on the island)...I'm taking my Canon 5DIII, lenses all Canon (17-40L, 24-105L, 100L macro, 100-400L), chargers/batteries/cards/clean underwear, blah blah blah.
My question is....anyone who's been there or lives there, are there any special spots/shots/views I should try to find outside the normal tourist realm? Also, ya think I should take my infrared converted Canon 50D?
Never been out of the states,.....thanks for any help.. :-)

All of the suggestions are right on. The eucalyptus was taken at a botanic gardens just before the Kenae Peninsula on the road to Hana. Many beautiful plants, waterfalls, etc. on the road to Hana. Can't miss on anywhere on Maui. A hike in the crater will give you some amazing shots. If you had gone in the winter, you are guaranteed shots of whales. Enjoy and remember, Hawaii is also a state. They don't appreciate saying that you came over from the states. Just a tip.

If you've got lots of money to burn, go for the "L". I have the non L 100 macro and am very pleased. Check out my Flickr page for examples of macro with the non L lens. Good luck!

Just checked out your Flickr page. Those are stunning. I hope I can get close to what you have with the same lens. I think I need a lot more practice. Thanks for sharing those beautiful shots.

Was fooling around the yard and was taking some images of this daisy when who should appear but this guy. Was using the Tokina macro and ring flash. Handheld, no PP just cropped.

Great shots. Very clear. That is a Bee Fly. Actually a fly but mimics bees.

Took this shot yesterday while driving around at work. What do you guys think?

I like everything about it. The sky is interesting, the tracks show nice perspective and especially like the way the track leads toward the trees on the left. well done.

485, I don't know what kind of bird it is either. I just want to mention that there are some very good guides that can be purchased as apps for your phone. Some are very complete with sounds as well as the usual info. I don't have one but have read about them. You might want to consider one. Maybe someone can recommend a good one. Good luck.

That sure looks like the Hooded Orioles that come every Spring and Summer to feed at my Oriole feeder.

Just want to add my "Thanks" to the others. Your tutorial, like the first one, is clear and easy to follow for this novice. The resulting image was superb. Thanks again.

Refurbished iMac.

Agree with RMM. There is a store on ebay called Macinabox (Can Google that). They have a great variety of refurbished Apples. I got my wife a MacBook Air for $650. Like new and she loves it. Doesn't have the memory that some do but shop around. Good hunting.
