A few years ago I chronicle the life of a pair of Great Horned Owlets, here are some of the photos I took from that event.

On one morning last summer on one of my drive around photo shoots I can across a hen ring-necked Pheasant as I was taking her photo a male should up then another. There is a local hunting preserve that missed this guys. To see these beautiful birds in upstate NY is fairly rare unless your near the areas that are stocked for hunting. Nothing like North or South Dakota

I have one and the zoom is great to see what is way out there. however I you have to hold the camera as still as possible to get good shots. I have noticed that many of the photos seem to be soft. although many of the photos are fairly good it just how you hold the camera. I use a bean bag out of the car window and I get a few nice photos but generally they come back soft. it may be that I am shooting in lower light first thing in the morning. the range is really great no doubt but hold it firm to get the best out of it. lastly their is a lot of noise above ISO 1000, but light room can take care it. all in all it is an OK camera for personal use but to submit to a stock agency there would be many photos rejected.

I was submitting regularly to Shutter stock as well, when I read an article about how stock agencies stick it to you. Your right they only care about themselves and not the photographer. since reading the article I have not submitted any more photo to them

If you haven’t updated the firmware in your G9 I highly recommend it. They’ve improved the autofocus for wildlife.

I updated the camera as soon as I opened the box

Thank you all for the comments, I was a canon shooter but sold it all, the G9 with the PL 100-400 is ever as good as my 7DMKII

There are many lakes surrounding Lakeland, but we only had time for one so we choose Lake Morton as it has many varieties of waterfowl. here are a few that you find there. I shot all the photos with my Lumix G9 with the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm f/4-6.3 ASPH. Power O.I.S. Lens. I just recently bought the 4/3 system so I am getting used to the focusing zones.

Comments welcome

I bought a USB 3in one card reader from amazon called UNITEK. it is fast and type the three types of cards. I always remove the card from the camera and use the reader to upload mt photos, once it is done I format the card and put it back in the camera

I bought into the Micro 4/3 system and bought a Lumix G9 with a 100-400 zoom lens. These are the first photos I took with this new camera and lens. I am still learning the modes and setting for my type of shooting. However, I am starting with a couple of suggestions from you tube photographer. So, here are my first photos enjoy. Any Critique is welcomed.
