I have the latest version of LR. Just recently installed. I uploaded from my card reader some recent pictures. They get to Library no problem. Go to the collection I want, no problem. The collection count indicates the number of pictures imported. When I click on Develop all the pictures go black..nada...nothing. No Histogram...nothing. Cannot bring to Photoshop under the edit, no picture shows up. Should I uninstall and reinstall? If so how do I do that? I do subcribe to Adobe Cloud......Thank You in advance for any help.

I had this problem too Under develop mode .. Basic ... Ensure the exposure is not set all the way back - thereby giving you black pics Or If above does not work ... Ensure. ... You do not have a develop preset on the images. Some the develop pressets don't work under the New LR CC
We normally do stop in Australia on the way there, or back. This time however we booked all our time in the North & South islands, there was not enough time to make that stop happen.
Cheers mate - enjoy your trip to the "land of the long white cloud"
Thats New Zealand for those that don't know! In the Nov, Dec time frame I am planning a two week trip to New Zealand. Ive been here many times because my wife is a Kiwi although transplanted to the U.S many years ago. Every time Ive been in the past it was to visit family and Golf vacations. This time the clubs stay behind and the cameras are coming. Im looking to photograph long exposures, water lighthouses and maybe some star trails.
Ill spend one week in the north based in Auckland, so looking for some waterfalls I can catch in the morning golden hours. Then Ill be in the South traveling to CHC to Lake Tekapo. Then on to the famous Moeraki Boulders for a day or two. Then, the Catlins. Ive done a ton of research and have some great shooting ideas, but its always good to get some local knowledge. If anyone has any specific recommendations for water falls, lighthouses or dark sky reserves in these areas feel free to let me know. Or If you just want to go shoot, or toss back a cold one - ping me.

Any chance you will make a trip to Australia - another great country
Nope, only raw goes to DNG and why I question the need if you already have the raw file. A little compression...
Just resolved the problem, upon import the jpg was being displayed under a previous version saved preset which was not compatible under the new updated LR CC version. Removed the preset and all is fine now. Thank you all for your valuable support, keep my grey matter in good order.
So when you say you can't view JPEG's on import, does this mean you can view them if you select the folder and not the "Last Import"? Or does this mean that you can never view JPG's in this catalog? Is it all JPG's, or just the last imported ones?
I cannot view jpg files that have been imported since the LR CC update of this week. As you will see from screen shot posted at the top of this thread. The file exit in the LR catalog. But appears black, even though the exposure is correct. Outside LR all jpg files appear fine when viewed in explorer. Am using Windows 8.1. The problem is only within LR CC.
~~~~~~~~~~ I would verify you can open the JPG in another application and that it is not corrupted somehow. If you can, try re-syncing that directory. If it is all JPG files then we need to try something else.
You have the option on import to change your files to DNG or not, its up to you during the import process.
As far as adjusting the sliders, two things come to mind. First if you use a process version other than 2012, the sliders are not set to zero by default. But LR is not adjusting your photo for you. If you go to settings and change to a process version other than 2012, you will see your sliders move. Or you may have a import adjustment that is changing them. For instance, on my D800 I have an import preference that adjusts the shots exactly as the camera would do it to display the JPG in camera. This way my RAW file is adjusted on import to look like the camera JPG and I start with a slightly adjusted file to edit. So look for an import preference.
Thanks Capture48 - it was the import preset that was causing the issue - now resolved for the sliders. However, still cannot view jpegs on import - totally baffled on this one - hope someone can resolve
The best I can tell you is that the update was a huge fail. Everyone was complaining. Adobe just came out with a fix. Check and see if it is now available to you. I got it this morning and so far, so good.
I did update this morning as well, but the problem still persist
Updated LR CC yesterday, have 2 issues hoping one of the Hoggers can help here 1) On Import I can see my raw files converted to DNG, how cannot view any of my JPG files - see attached picture 1st file is a JPG image coming up with a black screen.
2) Upon import all images in the develop module have the sliders in "Basic" set to zero. I have gotten used to LR automatically adjusting the sliders to the best possible result, thereby me having to limit my work flow.
Appreciate any help, I can get on the above 2 problems
I downloaded the trial this afternoon after I saw your earlier post. Kinda difficult to figure out so i downloaded a users manual in english and spent a couple of hours with it. It is much more complicated than what I now use and I was unable to produce the type of photo effect I like in HDR, which is one that kind of looks like it might have been a painting rather than a photo. Most of the more popular apps have names such as "painterly" or "grunge" for the various effects and provide a selection of thumbnails to make your choice from. I flunked art class in school so I prefer to have a large choice of preset effects and just click on what I like. So far my favorites are HDRist (easy to use) and Topaz Adjust plug in for my PS Elements 11 which offers more adjustment tools for those who like em. :-) :-)
I too did the same and found it fairly comprehensive and difficult to follow through. I won't give up, but will have another go, once I digest the manual. Thanks
