I'm updating a new HDD to make it identical to my current one, and I came across ProShow Gold, the slide-making program. It was popular about ten years ago. I paid $70 for it in 2012, and I have the key to install it. Unfortunately, the company went out of business, so installation is not possible. When I enter the key number, there is no computer to verify it. I have since bought Movavi SlideShow Maker. It's too bad that companies can't remove the need for keys when they shut down. I guess when they're going out of business, their customers are the last thing on their minds.

I feel your pain Jerry. I too was an avid user of Pro Show Gold. Too bad, since they decided to go out of business, they couldn't have issued a 'skeleton key' of sorts:o)

It is very rare when I take a shot of children without asking for permission. However, I could not resist this moment while the preschool group waited to start their excursion.
There is an obvious boss, or leader, or instigator. What could she be saying?

Is there a way to add my own sky photos to the limited sky selections available in Photoshop Elements? I've tried several approaches, but have been unsuccessful. Would appreciate help.

Mark

Here is a link showing step by step showing a process offered by Rick Peterson. I've used it many times successfully and am very pleased with this method.

Pache,
I have multiple mounted pictures on the walls of my home, (all are 24" wide with various depths). I've paid the 'big bucks' to have some printed while others were done at Sam's Club (before they stopped in-store printing), and even some printed recently by Walmart in-store service. (Very good job by the way!)
Once mounted and displayed on the wall I seriously think even our 'experts' could tell which were printed by whom.
Just my two-cents offered. Good luck on your choice.

"Make" a photograph - present it and let each viewer enjoy or disapprove ....according to what THEY see.
THEN, if there are inquires as to 'HOW', 'WHY', etc..... describe your technique.

Looking for a good simple editing software to purchase without monthly subscription. Any suggestions?

Photoshop ELEMENTS. Buy it, own it. No subscription.
Great for 'basic editing' and/or more involved editing as you progress with it.

There have been discussions about whether we see from left to right or from right to left. Here is an image which after cropping I simply flipped from left to right, I sense it has changed. Do you see the difference and which do you prefer and why. Bonus points if you can tell me which was the original orientation?

I believe the 'orientation' is best decided according to how the 'viewer's' orientation has been formed.... reading left to right, right to left, etc. What looks right to me (left to right), might look incorrect to a person who reads (or is oriented) to reading from right to left. Both are correct.
Hollywood, in their action sequences most often uses action entering from the left and going to the right, but even then, it's not a hard fast rule.
If it look right, it's right:o)

I purchased Adobe PSE 2022 and am having difficulty getting started and understanding How to use it. I've looked at the video tutorials without much success. Can anyone suggest a good "how to" book to get me started?

YouTube has many very helpful PS Element tutorials. If you're in doubt as to which to watch, start with the basic "Introduction to Elements" type videos. There are many. When you progress to a certain point and want to learn to do a specific process, do a search on YouTube for that process. Chances are very good you'll find a video demonstrating exactly that.
I'm one who needs to SEE it done first and I've found the many tutorials very helpful. In fact I've posted a few there myself now, in an attempt to "Pass it On" to those it may help.
Elements if so very powerful and capable of so much. You'll be amazed at its' capabilities.

I have been using Corel Video Studio 2022. Previously, over several years, VS worked okay for me on nearly a hundred videos I have designed. Recently, I can't edit with VS because it silently crashes while I'm trying to edit with it. Not wanting to waste hours trying to troubleshoot the crashing problems, I would appreciate knowing your suggestions for a new software program. I use Win10 on my PC. I do not want to sell my car to lease Adobe Premier Pro and I don't consider myself a pro designer. With that said, Adobe Elements looks too amateurish for me. I'm reading good reviews on Power Director 365. I am not interested in link advice; I want recommendations from real-life UHH users, who are using software programs they like and won't constantly crash.

Barn Owl, I've had tremendous results with Wondershare's "Filmora". Great video editing software and more. It also allows you to record from your screen which I find very useful when creating 'Tutorials' etc. You can purchase basic program or 'lifetime'. I have the lifetime and it has updated regularly as new features are added. I'm very happy with it and have used it now very successfully over the past 4-5 years. I'm not positive, but I believe the cost back then was $59.99.
Good Luck with your choice,

Hi Cheese,
I recently upgraded to Win. 11 on a laptop (very slow processor) and I'd estimate it took about an hour for the main download. Then of course there were the necessary updates to bring it up to date, which I did, casually throughout the entire afternoon. I didn't have to stay glued to the computer. Each time it requited a 'restart' it notified me and I'd so so.
I guess the actual time element of downloading and installing would primarily depend on the speed of your connection and computer.
Good Luck,
God Bless,
Papa Joe
