Is it better to buy camera in USA or China?

My son is traveling from USA to China in a couple of weeks. He is interested in buying a new mirrorless camera (his first), either Sony or Canon or Panasonic, and not sure whether to buy from USA or China.

Questions:

1. If he buys in China would he likely get a better price than USA? If so, is such price difference significant?
2. If he buys in China, would that be considered gray market? ie, no USA warranty?
3. Is there any customs tax on such a purchase when he returns to USA?
4. What do you recommend? China? or old USA faithful B&H or Adorama?

Don not forget that Trump has slapped a 25% tariff on Chinese products.

In the days of film it was not possible to change the ISO, you had to choose the ISO you considered the most suitable. Now that most cameras are digital there is the option to be able to select the ISO so personally for my purpose, I use 200 ISO permanently which what the film was when I used that.

A trip to Wellesbourne airfield in Warwickshire, UK, last weekend, to photograph a Cold War bomber.
Avro Vulcan B2, XM655 made its last flight in RAF service in 1984.
It is now one of only three Vulcans that are in taxiable condition.
All photographs were taken with a Canon EOS 7D with a Tamron 24-70 lens in RAW format, processed with DxO Photolab2.

When I did my National Service in 1974 I was stationed at RAF Wellesbourne doing a course in Photography, it wasn't far from where I lived so I could go home often. When I got married our first house was a new one built on part of the airfield near the cricket pitch.
Thank you for bringing back so many good memories,

I just got a Leica M-10 with two lenses, a Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.2 and a Leica Summarit-M 90mm f/2.4.
Good golly Miss Molly, I must be insane.

You bought this camera just in time, Trump has put a tariff of 25% on imports from Europe.

Yes. That's what a Smart TV does. Ours aren't smart so we have a ROKU stick on one and a bluetooth/roku dvd player on the other. Should I choose I can cast my computer images to my TV through Bluetooth. I use ROKU often for streaming Netflix, Hulu and PBS wirelessly, among other things.

I have two so-called Smart TVs and a couple of non-Smart TV's with a Roku stick. The older non-smart TV,s
are much more user-friendly.

I shoot Canon JPEG at it's best resolution. How many pix can I get per GB? Don't tell me raw. Don't tell me it depends. Give me a number.

That's like asking how long a piece of string is! I get over 2000 on my 16gb card using high-quality Jpegs of around the 8mb mark.

There are solar chargers. And flexible solar chargers, like for the back of a backpack.
There are ciggie USB converters, that'll charge up to three rSB ports.
There are 8-battery 18650 packs, that'll keep you unit running, and charging, at the same time. (Gots one!) My 1.5 hr phone ran for 3, was more charged after, and the pack was 3/4+ full.
Get a good 2 battery charger (check the amp rates) that'll fit the wall socket where you're going.
*I already screwed up 1 Meike grip, working on 2x2 18650 batteries to give me 3+ Nikon battery's amp hours. I'll still have 2x AA battery grip units.

I have a couple of solar chargers. They are useless and take days to charge to any sort of level.

I used a 50mm lens for a couple of years and although it was a brilliant lens producing excellent images, I found that my 40mm lends suited my style of photography much more, in fact this lens is left on one camera permanently with a 24-64mm mini zoom on the other.
I know that 50mm is supposed to have the same view as the human eye but this only a rough guide and can vary from person to person, my field of view is more or less the same as a 44mm lens which is why I use the 40mm.

The Z50 is nothing more than a miniature Z6 or Z7, that's the problem with most mirrorless cameras, they look like they were all carved out of the same block of wood. They have no style or personality like DSLR's have.

The real problem is Nikon trying to make a mirrorless camera 15 years after the first Leica came out in 2004. Nikon has a lot of catching up to do.

I have Olympus Workspace installed but I never use it much, sorry I cannot help you with your problem.
I have just checked mine and it appears to be working OK on all my drives. I am wondering about the drive letter being the same letter "G" and if that could cause a problem, why not assign a totally different letter so you know which drive you are using.
Version 1.1 is the latest although I consider it's a poor piece of software anyway

This pathetic cowardly woman has to return to the UK to face the music, she will probably not be jailed just a hefty fine. She ought to return to help the young man's family to grieve properly.

I have owned one of these for several years it has taken 1000's of excellent photographs, recently I reduced my lenses down to just two, a Panasonic 20mm prime and a 12-32 zoom. This makes the package very small and can be carried around all day with little effort.
Two pieces of advice however:

1: Buy a spare battery, this camera is quite economical and one battery lasts me all day but l sometimes
need a spare.
2: The menu system can take some getting used to so you need to be patient, the knobs, on the other hand,
are very easy to get used to.

My advice is to go ahead and buy one you won't regret it.
