It depends when you go...winter is best.
We have this wonderful island called Herm just 3 miles from the island of Guernsey. It is truly a magical place with only pedestrians and the occasional tractor to get in the way. These were taken last weekend.

Beautiful set of shots....well done!
I used to have that lens. There are a number of limitations that I found. It is quite soft beyond 430mm even stopped down. It is a slow lens, needing to be at least f8 to be acceptable. For best results it needs a tripod, although I did use it handheld quite a bit. I traded it in for a Canon 400 mm f5.6 and my keeper rate increased significantly. When looking for a 500mm at a cheap price it is the best around. I figured though, that I only needed the last 100mm and as only 400-430mm were acceptable the Canon was by a long way a better option.
Thanks blues...I do love this aspect of photography.
They are about 6 inches....bear in mind this was taken with a 400mm lens, so the image is magnified.
Yes, we are spoiled for choice...there is beauty around every corner!
Hope you don't mind me sharing some more of our lovely island of Guernsey.

Thank you, you are all very kind.
Hi, Guernsey is the second largest island in the Channel Islands, which are situated in the English Channel, south of the United Kingdom. We pride ourselves on being self governing, with no unemployment, and no national debt. Something which maybe unique in the world we live in today.
