Totally agree, all ways format the card in camera, I have use Lexar cards for long time, I just get 4 16gb 1000x Lexar card, it tested out OK, 16gb is the smallest for the 1000x, when I travel, I like to shoot only 1 or 2 days per card, this way if the card fail I would'nt lose too many pic's, and I shoot both Jpeg and Raw (with D610 & D750). would like to hear if more of other peoples have problem with Lexar specially with 1000x.
