Consistency counts. There were eight steps in the sink line process:

Developer
Reversal Bath
Wash
Color Developer
Bleach
Fixer
Wash
Stabilizer

...all conducted at 100.4°F, ± .3°

The agitation interval and type varied, depending on the chemical. The first three steps were in the dark. You could turn on the lights after the first minute in the color developer.

How many time you scratch your nose while in the dark, lol, yes I remember those good old days, from black & white to color, develop & printing.

Ralloh, I don't know what kind of crowds you encountered when you were there but maybe I just hit it wrong.

What gets me is that those people (specially with the cellphone) get right up to the subject, take few pictures, does not move off and check the pic, take few more and check it again, it take them 20-30 minutes to do one scene while you wait for them to get off to the side . . . !

Thanks, SS. This is very helpful. I will be there for 5 days so I hope to see as much as possible.
I have a Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8. I'm considering buying the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8. Would that be overkill for this trip?
Thanks, again.
L

no, the 70-200 would not be over kill but a bit heavy to carry around all day! I have my D610 with 28-300 and the nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8 with me while I was there, a unipod are very useful too. enjoy your trip.

A bigger question is, why are you filling up the card to the point of bursting anyway?

I have a daughter who used to do this (maybe still does). She would fill her cheap point and shoot's internal memory with photos, then do something dumb and erase every one of them. She continued doing this even after getting a camera that used an sd card. Every time she would be all upset over losing her priceless pictures. I just could not convince her to transfer them to her computer.

If I go out with my camera and take five shots or 100 shots, I transfer them to my computer when I get home and reformat the card. I do this while it is still in the camera. I've never lost a photo.
A bigger question is, why are you filling up the c... (show quote)

agree, it's the best way to do, but some people are so lazy just to push few more buttons, and some think they can save more by filling up the card!
When I set out to shoot, including long trips (2 weeks or more), I bring enough cards with me so I only fill the card to about 3/4 full. Careful not to do any thing while that green light is blinking.

I did get a little po'd about how gallery is operating now. Simply becaus it was not expected. It does operate good. Just had to figure it out. Was more of a what going on. But in a little while I did figure it out. Not sure if anyone else ran into the same. Thought at first I had corrupted file or files. Not the case. Can't complain at all about win 10. Photo gallery work good, but it did catch me off guard. Don't like surprise birthdays either.

so what do you have to do?

Same problem with a transend 16gig.....had about one third filled and 3 computers will not read it want to format and tried Recuva (if I remember correctly) no luck. Live and learn about saving $4

I Use Lexar and Transend but nothing bigger than 32gb, I also tested the Lexar 16gb 1000x cards and it's all working!! The question is "do you guys really need those high volume like 64bg and up and high speed must more then the camera's spec"?
I travel for vacation from 7 days to 30 days trip and uses 4 to 6 set (jpeg & raw in 2 card slot set of 16gb and 32fb), average bout 1,000 to 3,000 shots per trip. I used D70, D300, D610, D7100 and now the D750 and have not have any problem yet with Lexar or Transend cards, just remember to re-format in the camera, don't do in camera delete, copy or edit, read the instructions and use the right card reader!!!!!!! good luck to you all; & to me too, LOL.

Right now if I was building a new machine from scratch, I would purchase/install the version of Win7 that I need to support the config. Then do the free Win10 dowmload/install.

But that's just me....

Part of the problem is that these cards are not all identical, neither are the card readers, nor the cameras, nor the computers.

These are memory devices, and they have a file system structure applied by formatting them. If you format the card in the camera, then using the camera to delete individual images should not cause a problem, since the cameras OS and the card format should be completely compatible.

However, if you format the card with a card reader and your computer then there can be differences that could cause problems of varying kinds. Keeping things consistent is important.

As mentioned by Jeep Daddy, there can be other compatibility issues that can be problematic. It is important to read the instructions and compatibility information, since the devil is usually in the details.

Even the best products can fail if used incorrectly. Keeping things simple and consistent usually helps.

Totally agree, all ways format the card in camera, I have use Lexar cards for long time, I just get 4 16gb 1000x Lexar card, it tested out OK, 16gb is the smallest for the 1000x, when I travel, I like to shoot only 1 or 2 days per card, this way if the card fail I would'nt lose too many pic's, and I shoot both Jpeg and Raw (with D610 & D750). would like to hear if more of other peoples have problem with Lexar specially with 1000x.

Hi Jerry, after you install Wind10 on your Win7 machine, do you have to re-install any software and re-set any setting? Same question for Win10 on win8.1?
