Interesting subject. Even though the language is called English we seem to be just a user (French does not suffer except with Franglais issues like le camera and le car ferry)
Bill Gates has a lot to answer for. Most software programmes seem to only offer US English so we can have spell checker corrections for Colour as Color etc and of course millimetre although here a meter is something they use to charge us for utilities usage. Sometimes I am offered International English as a choice whatever that is.
Probably only a short term issue as we could use SMS text speak as the new international language!
Thanks, yes I know where the tigers are and plan to visit the national park. I will let you know if see one in Delhi though!
Many thanks to everyone who responded with advice, hopefully I can post some shots when I get back. I am taking the Palace on Wheels train journey to do the Golden Triangle and a bit more and then going north to Shimla and probably a little higher. I don't have a long lense so even if I do see a tiger it might be a problem but we are visiting a wildlife park where there are supposed to be several.
I agree with the keep it simple and would suggest the 50mm lense, keep the kit down to a minimum and have the camera as low profile as possible-obviously stay away from children and try not to get yourself arrested!!
Goint to India with travel in Golden Triangle and then up to Shimla. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions they would like to share? I hear that Delhi is a great place to buy photo equipment. Not sure what to take yet as weight may be an issue particularly if I take a long lense (tigers etc).
Have a look at the IIyama Prolite B2776HDS-it is a 27" with outstanding colour but if you are linking to a laptop you would need to check the graphics card etc
You are not alone-I am in Woodham (north of Woking). I have been back into photography for about 2 years and enjoy a wide variety of topics. Here's a shot of sunny Woodham-this boat was on its way to the Queen's Jubilee but had to get out of the canal before it was closed because of the drought!
