I know it's much easier to dismiss things by generalizations but how about sharing some of the hooey and shallow analysis contained within the article?

Negative views of California are not based on anecdotes such as "I like living here". They are based on a decade of huge budget deficits that continue today, a characteristic of many progressive population centers. Yes, Brown has implemented tax increases and other measures that he claims will result in a surplus, but time will tell if that prediction comes true. Such measures historically produce temporary improvements. I guess we'll see.

But if you prefer anecdotes, then I live in Arizona. Folks move here either from the north to avoid the cold, or from California to escape the high costs.

Not so, I am cynical yes, but I attempt to see and evaluate all points of view, then make my own personal decision. It is true I have a negative view of how the state of California has been governed, and I am sure I am not alone in that view. 8-)

It is obvious that you were also attempting to make the point that now with a Democratic Governor (that nut from the past), "headway" is now being made in fixing California's problems.

If "headway" could not be made with a total Democratic control of the State legislature for 41 out of 42 years then I doubt Jerry Brown is the answer.

California is the great progressive experiment and has been a miserable failure. 8-)

I sure did, it even showed that my poor state of Kentucky was the most improved over the last time the study was done. Kentucky has a Democratic governor!
