Me in a painting studio. I skated over to it so stripped down to my sneakers, socks, cap, and held my board. Aside from the punk aesthetic, for skaters our boards and sneakers are our most essential equipment. Most accomplished pro and semi-pro skateboarders are in their twenties to early thirties and our bodies tend towards athletic but not super-muscular or as defined as some athletes though it depends on the individual. Throughout grad school I spent a lot of time thinking about my body as an athlete as I got older.

Much of my work focuses on the body including my own. I was at SCAD completing my MFA when I posed for and shot this using the self-timer on my camera. I have my beanie and sneakers on for two reasons: one, to indicate it is not supposed to be in another time—so much nude work in art school is made to look classical or historic—and also to suggest my identity as a skateboarder. ESPN's Body Issue has inspired me to consider our bodies as athletes, how our sports define us, so despite the very staged studio setting that, as well as the influence of art school and life drawing was a focus here.

Like many other popular tourist destinations, Venice is having a tourist problem. The local population has declined to just 50,000, and tourists are outnumbering the locals. In addition, the huge number of visitors is causing excess wear and tear on the city. Venice has instituted a daily charge for visitors to help pay for the damage being done. This is turning out to be a problem all over the world, including our National Parks. People are accidentally and intentionally damaging ancient historic sites. A couple of women carved something into a wall of the Coliseum in Rome. Posting pictures of themselves online wasn't a smart move. Every popular tourist site is experiencing accidental and intentional damage from tourists. Stonehenge has been enclosed by a fence because of damage caused by tourists. I'm glad I was able to visit before the fence went up.

On the plus side, tourism adds billions of dollars to local economies, and it allows people to see and appreciate famous sites.

Okay...I get that the Super Bowl is not for everyone. I realize that not everyone like football.

Why do people feel that they have to plaster social media and the internet that they don't care about the game today. Fine....I get that you don't care. But guess what....I don't care that you don't care. I don't need to know. That fact that you don't care isn't going to change my mind to watch.

Guess what....I don't care about the World Cup and any of the awards shows. I just don't tell everyone about it. Well....until now I guess.

I saw a deceptive video about the cost of charging an EV (electric vehicle). The woman said that the most economical place to charge is at home, which is true. She claimed to "fill" her Tesla for $4.36 @ $0.08/kWh. That is not a realistic cost per kWh. My electric company does the same thing. It lists a lost cost per kWh, but then it adds fee after fee until I actually pay $0.33 per kWh.

If someone thinks they can charge their car for under $5.00, that's a big incentive to buy an EV. At my house, that $4.36 would be almost $18.00. Charging at public stations is comparable to, or more expensive than, buying gasoline. That's according to YouTubers charging at various locations.
