I was in Westlake, Texas at my brother-in-laws house... For 1 minute 57 secs of Totality... Captured some BONUS Coronal Mass Ejections during the "Diamond Ring" and "Bailey's Beads" 👍🏻

Clouds came in AFTER totality and blocked the downhill side of the eclipse... We had clouds before and after, but was totally blessed with a huge break in the clouds during totality...with stars, Jupiter, and Venus easily seen with the naked eye.

Non-totality shots were with the D3500 with non-VR AFP 70-300 on tripod, with K&F Concepts ND100000.
Totality shots were with the D5600 with VR AFP 70-300, handheld, no filter.

Then we immediately hit the road to head back to Kansas, due to forecasted hail and bad weather in Westlake... The roads (traffic) weren't bad at all on I-35 Northbound!

Your diversity of experiences that you participated in is something you'll never forget. I caddied nine holes for Arnold Palmer in a charity event, I played nine holes with Mickey Mantle ( the most impressive thing about him, to me, was how far he could drive a golf tee into the bark of a pine tree, using only his hand ) and I stood and watched Lee Trevino hit about 30 wedge shots using my wedge club, When he played in the Jacksonville PGA tournament, he would come to my club to practice ...get away from the crowds. I'm on the practice tees hitting wedge shots. Up walks Trevino and his caddie and he sets his bang down next to mine, After a short time, he asked if he could try my wedge out. Long story short, he loved the club and ended up having one made by the clubmaker that made mine. Before he was through hitting my club, another 8 guys who were also on the practice tees, had come over to watch. He had every one of us laughing our butts off over stories he was telling about life on the tour. I remember that whole episode like it was yesterday.

While walking outside yesterday I thought I would take the camera. When I opened the back door I saw a mayfly on the side of the house. Back into the house I went to get the tripod. He was nice enough to sit there long enough for me to take a few photographs.

Nice spinner Dennis. Gets my juices flowing...it's still too cold back here for any hatches besides a few BWOs.

Richard Petty is, most likely, the most popular Nascar driver throughout the series's history. I've been to his impressive facilities in North Carolina. The cars shown here are some of his collection he brought with him to the Amelia Island show.

As you would imagine, the crowds swarmed him as he walked around in the display area. I had gotten close to him when he abruptly changed directions. He stepped on my foot. He graciously apologized before moving on. I felt like a fool.

My favorite driver from way back when. And you've confirmed my suspicions... he really does have a lead foot!

Mr. B I already get into enough trouble along those lines so I will simply in agreement and give my thanks for a great comment.

I dunno...nowadays it's hard to tell. Especially if you watch the news. In any event it's not very ladylike!

I have an old friend that owns a body shop called Fractured Glass. He specialized in Corvettes. This gives his company name a whole new meaning.

This boat has been driving me nuts. I can't find a single similar vessel anywhere on the internet. I'll bet the boat was a one-off production. The hull is steel evidenced by the rust, the platform astern looks to be a work station and not a casting platform (slippery steel plate) and one heck of a 90 HP motor for the size of the boat combined with the motor's position. That boat must shudder like heck under full throttle from the prop wash. But, if it's a work boat ,what's up with the tower?

You make the same observations and draw the same conclusions as I did. Even at slow speeds, the handling would be a bit strange to me. The directional response and control is an issue I'd sure have to get used to.

Thanks for looking in and commenting.

Since all boats, including canoes and kayaks steer from the rear when underway, I wonder how it handles? If it's a shrimper/fisher in shallow water I guess you'd never have to get it up on plane and your turns would be slow. I've never seen one like it.
