My Pretty Baby Goose

Very pretty!!! However if entering in a contest you ought to consider doing some more PP on the background and foreground. They compete too much with the duckling imho. Too much in focus, And judges in contests are looking for any excuse to drop a contestant. I played around blurring the background and it helped some once again imho. It's your gosling so do what you want. You've probably already won first prize. Good luck.

I just want to read what people think about this. I was in a restaurant the other day and this couple had four kids. Each child including the parents pulled out their cell phones and started doing their thing; maybe facebook or something else. The point I want to make is this, the whole family had no personal interaction other than telling the waitress what they wanted. That was it, maybe two minutes and then they were all back on their devices. People are texting and killing people daily and we seem to be lost in this technological never never land. It saddens me to see what we have evolved into and that is a bunch of nerds. Help me out here..what do you all think

I agree with everything that has been written here about texting. Basically it sucks! But most UHHers are probably over 50 and grew up without it. I'd like to hear why the younger, under 30 or so, is so so sold on it. If they all use it how come? Do they have to be in contact with somebody at all times? Why? Do they have to know everything about everyone on their email list all the time? Isn't that referred to as being nosey? Guess the latest Pick Up line would go something like this "You certainly have a nice smile, may I have your texting address so we can text each other a little more intimately" Heaven forbid you should ask her to dance first and THEN go for the address. Younger generation, Whats so good and interesting about TEXTING???

Thank you for commenting, Robin. The German General Staff was quite reluctant to invade the Rhineland in 1936, since that could have triggered the counter-invasion by the far superior Allied forces on grounds of Germany violating the terms of the 1918 Armistice. But Hitler correctly estimated the unwillingness of France and Britain to fight, which reinforced his reputation as a successful strategist. If the Allies had responded as required, there probably would not have been a WW II (at least, not as we knew it). Of course, Japan in the Pacific was a whole 'nother story.

Richard, you've certainly created a very interesting topic of discussion. Do you live very far from The Springs? I know a guy there whom you'd really enjoy talking to.

Thanks for your comments, Machia, they're much appreciated. I'm sure your mother's Austrian cousin was not alone in despising the Nazis while serving in their military machine.

No he wasn't. I read The History of the German General Staff 9 GGS) which followed them from perhaps the 1700's thru the end of WW2. The GGS had the mentality of saying "yes sir" TO WHOMEVER WAS RUNNING THE SHOW. before Germany was united they were the Prussian General staff. I don't know the author. Another senior officer who hated Hitler et al was Adolf Galland, head of Luftwaffe fighter command during the battle of Brittan. Galland answered to Goering whom he hated. Goering and Hitler didn't know zilch about military strategy and tactics or weapons design. The Nazi portion of the Military establishment was loyal to Hitler. What went on behind the scenes was amazing. The bad luck they, GGS, had in ATTEMPTS to kill Hitler are amazing and the GOOD LUCK Hitler had in escaping from these attempts was doubly amazing.

My Osprey photo was published in the Coeur d' Alene Press newspaper here in North Idaho. The newspaper wanted to publish the best wildlife photos in this area of North Idaho.
No prizes or money was involved, just recognition. They did publish a 8"x10" photo which is fairly large for a newspaper.

CONGRATS!!! Publication of a photo is always great for the fotogs ego and soul

Its not the easiest of filter pack to use as each one is adjustable with the Perimeters tab you will see.
Its got built in layers which are well worth learning. after Nik its the best filter set in the whole world and hardly anybody knows about it!!!!

For the past nine days, I've been working nine or ten hours a day in town. It was nice knowing it would be a limited engagement, but it left me no time to do anything - like UHH. I remembered what life was like when I was working all those years: get up, go to work, come home, eat, sleep, go to work...

Take my word for it, retirement is better than working. It's great being home again and having the day to myself.

The major keys to a happy retirement, imho, are hobbies and enough money to enjoy them. The UHHers will be able to spend much more time behind the camera than they ever thought possible. Those who don't have a hobby spend too much time watching TV And for those of you still working, find a hobby and put the maximum allowable into 401Ks, IRA,s or what ever. Lots of SMALL income streams add up to an income River from which you can get the newest camera and lens to support it at the new foto sites you can afford to travel to. Most of all, HAVE FUN!!!

This is Simonida, my ex girlfriend.

She is a "Looker" for sure, probably high maintenance, and quite a bit younger than you. No doubt one of those three played a part...perhaps also religious differences? I visited Jugoslavia many years ago when under Tito He pretty well kept the country together in my humble opinion. Stayed overnight at the university dorm in Zagrab and saw evidence of American Foreign Aid in the form of bags of grain outside the University kitchen, with the following " "To the Yugolavian people from your American Friends" all written in perfect large letter English. How dumb can we be? Why wasn't it written in the language of the recipients? From Zagrab we drove West over to the Coast and stayed in a very small town. People all very friendly and my buddy and I had a great time. You'll get another woman within the next month or so if you want to. Good Luck!

Without a doubt, number one because of the eyes and the pose. I don't see it as any less sharp than number two.

Thanks for your vote. I see them all as being acceptably sharp, and personally like three the best He's definitely a little softer than the others, however.
