I onced lived near Naubinway Mi (upper penninsula)Pasties are a big deal there. I tried them a couple of times. 1st of all, the state flavor of Michigan is "blah". I have had wet cardboard in mouth that tasted better.
Long bench ! who in the world knows. I can't imagine very many customers.

Funny how people see things differently. I see the crew from "this old house" remodeling this beautiful house. I like the effects of the b&w.

I have not noticed you being bashed. maybe you need some skin thickener. To all, I post pics now and then, make comments now and then. I don't care if someone bashes me. I have wide shoulders and I am a crusty old son of a gun.

Original cyn, We actually have a lot of mountains and beautiful sceanery in the west. There are real Mountains out here. Elevations of 1500' are "foothills". I live at the foot of the Ruby Mountains in Northern Nevada at 5800' and about 5 miles from a 11,000' peak.

Sorry, I managed to do that twice. These are functional engines. Copies of the two engines you see where they drove the golden spike.

If you like old trains and railroad museums, and you are traveling interstate 65 thru Ala, Tenn, Kentucky.
Ala @ Calera hiway 25 toward town, old trains as well as two you can ride
TENN @ Lynnville nice little museum.
Kentucky @ Bowling Green has a nice train museum

There is a Railroad Museum in Union, Illinois. They have a fantastic collection of old trains. The museum is run entirely by volunteers and is open every weekend for visitors.
The last picture I have posted is of the Leviathan. A brand new engine built by a local machine shop over five years.

I am an old geezer so I look at things a little differently. I really hate those pants that are ripped and worn out looking. That is the first thing that caught my eye. The tech. aspects were pretty well covered by others.

I believe that is the New Jersey. NOT SURE. I think the Missouri does not have the missle tubes and it is in Pearl Harbor on display. The Jersey was refitted and used in the persian gulf. Don't hesitate to correct me if I am wrong. (memory is not what it used to be)

I also got a d5100 in december.(from COSCO) I am a technology cripple. It is so much different than my Nikon FE-II. I love the camera but I think if I live to be 100, I will never learn all that it will do. The neat part is I can take all the pics I want with no cost.
