I know the version from last year works fine with the D-500 raw files, so I'm sure the newest one would work too.

I use the DJI phantom 4 pro+ for real estate photo and video projects. Flight time is amazing, and the 1" sensor that shoots 4K compares to DJI inspire. The nice thing is the flight time is better. The Inspire looks "more serious" but the flight time and video/photo quality makes a bigger difference than the looks of the drone.

The Mavic is amazing, but it's so small, it's hard to fly line of sight (legal)

I agree with the above post. I think it may have as much, if not more, to do with needing to update Win10. Whenever my photoshop slows down to a crawl, it almost always... like 99.99% of the time, gets cleared up if I update Windows 10. I always seem to forget that, and struggle through trying to figure out what is wrong with Photoshop or lightroom, until I finally remember to check for the windows updates.

Can't hurt.

Just tossing this out there to people who don't print often. Remember, a screen is backlit, and a print isn't. I have had better luck when over brightening a photo before sending it in to a lesser lab.

Most better labs know what to tweak to get the best out of a print.

Again, my 2 cents, but don't forget that paper isn't backlit, and you will understand the limitations.

I haven't used it since LR 4
I can personally see using one or the other based on personal preference, but don't see a good reason to use both?

I guess I'm kind of at a loss as to what you are trying to do? It almost sounds like time lapse. If that's the case, then you can use Premiere Elements (not full blown premiere), which is roughly $60 now for Christmas sales. It would also do the stuff bill is talking about above.

For actual slideshow, I use Proshow Producer, and I can set the transitions and the slides to varying lengths. Normally for a "slide show" depending on the "pace" or "feel" of the music, generally 3-5 seconds seems about right. A standard slide show at 1 second per slide would flash across the screen, and probably induce seizures. (OK, that was extreme...sorry)

Nothing to critique here. It's amazing

Yup, I only shoot raw. It's a personal preference, I want to touch, and edit every image I keep.

I enjoy editing, and love making the photo into "my style" For those that prefer to shoot, and let the camera and computer to do the editing, there's nothing wrong with that either.

Just like using a mode, vs. manual. It's preference, and how you choose to work. Nothing correct, or incorrect about either way.

I've used Pictureframes.com for prints up to 80" wide. Shipping was a bit expensive, but anyone shipping something over 80" is going to charge quite a bit.

Just a quick check on netiquette

Is it now acceptable to edit someone else's image without first asking permission??

This has happened twice in a number of weeks and appears to be directly for the posters own inflated ego as both edits looked like they were edited by beginners???

Look forward to see if this has now changed on the Hog

Regards
Joe

Fairly certain that those of us who have been around for a long time, all know better.

I think it's just bad form, and lack of education.

One other thought that just dawned on me is that you can also use your TV to display photos, and it would be larger, and probably 4K. I have 2 or 3 of those that are no longer used, maybe I can get fancy and make it into a "giant" photo frame?

Since they can make 8K displays now. I would certainly like an 8K digital frame.

I'm not an expert, but I have read multiple sources that say that the human eye doesn't "see" in 4K, so 8K would quite possibly be overkill?

Just my thought.

I've had the same on in my office running for 8 years, and it's still going strong.

I'm considering getting more.

It's a lot of work, and not a lot of reward. Customers don't seem to care how much effort it takes, so you can't charge a decent rate for your work. I have Hobby Lobby cut them, save the wasted board, and spend more time shooting.

I'm guessing that they print them on 2 different printers, and they both use different ICC profiles.
Personally, I would go with a lab like Meridianpro.com, who offer free color corrections, and will be a LOT more consistant. The prices are probably very comparable, except you do have to pay the flat shipping fee, so I would save them up and do all your printing at once.

I just sent in 4 batches of wedding "gift prints" and 5 senior photo orders, and the flat fee is still $7.95. The VERY few times I've had issues with them, they sent me replacement prints no questions asked.

I would also offer that I printed my older daughter's senior photos at Walgreens, and they turned green, and they weren't hung in the sun or anything, they were just hanging on a shady wall in a room that gets very little use. I've never had that issue with any from meridian.
