WxGuesser, I have own Canon SX30 IS as back-up for using super zoom, up to 840mm. I assure you that Canon SX30 IS have no RAW. It can use JGP, TIFF only.

I used own both Canon & Nikon for almost 10 years. I am no longer using Nikon. The fact Canon is King camera. Nikon is Queen. :lol:

Disagree with you...Canon and Nikon always have been comparable for many years. I like both of them! Both of them are definitely best as #1. It is depend on the photographer's heart connecting to either of them.
For jimbob51, trying to check Promaster Flasher 7400. It is similar to Canon Lite 430, especially Promaster 7400 is low cost than Canon Lite 430.

Yes, you are correct if you have PSE 9 then use upgrade PSE 10. Mine was an older PSE 7 (3 yrs old) so it had to unistall then installed full version of PSE 10.

I need some info

Vicki, I have Canon SX30is for a year. I am using it as back up. I have no problem with it. It works an excellent condition. This model is the same zoom 35x as yours. First setup in the menu be sure setting autofocus, find the manualbook. If it continues a problem, take it to the camera store for checking if it might is the malfunction.
