Editing pictures can easily add pixelation. Also, the jpeg quality you save with, and the resolution you save at, affect this. It is not the lens, or the camera.

I do the editing in Picasa and Paint.net. What jpeg quality and the resolution should I be saving them in. I don't know how to do those steps. Thanks for your information.

if you truly have a out of focus taken in camera picture , there is nothing you
can do to get it in focus . if you like I'll send you some and you can mail them back when and if you get them in focus . .

You shouldn't really judge the picture on how it looks on the camera's LCD. Download it to a computer and look at it on a monitor.

Pixelation is not a symptom of the lens, it happens because of the camera and the digitizing that may happen. If you post a picture here without any modifications, it will be easier or us to diagnose what might be happening. Please check "store original" when you do this. Thanks.

These were taken with the 50mm however I did edit them, especially the focus.

well it should , dident you try it right away . focus on some thing in your house , a close light, tv, then turn your focus ring way out of focus then touch your shutter focus . if you got that little switch up , it should focus if it's
in the right spot
now that other problem the black sleeve . I think you just have WB setting all wrong . or over exposer ? is it always in the same place if it is , it could be the sensor . but it looks more like a wrong . have you been in the settings
fooling around with your red, green, blue , etc settings ?

Didn't mess with the settings. Just started at the basketball game.

Exactly which 50mm f/1.8 lens did you get?

Could you please post a picture with the pixelating problem? If you check "store original", we'll be able to see it at full resolution, otherwise the detail level will be lost. Thanks.

Thank you for getting back to me. I took photos of the back of the Nikon image review. Not very good pics. but I think you will get the idea. Look at top left on one picture, and the man's sleeve on the other.

The pixelating problem is when I review images after I shot them.

Thanks for taking the time to offer an alternative, Joe. I think I'm still leaning towards darker, though less saturated.

I would have closed in on one of the headstones, from the side. You would still have your scene, might be more dramatic. Other wise good shot.

If you could please use "Quote Reply" when responding to a particular post, then that person and everyone else knows the context of your comment without having to read through the entire thread. This topic has been fairly easy, but it could easily get more complicated if several people post their pics for you to see and you are commenting on all of them.

Sorry I will do that in the future.
