Is this too much, particularly the 500mm?
I used the Canon Rebel T3 and Sigma 150-500 lens. Original was in raw and I converted to jpeg in Elements 9, then I cropped both to try to improve the position of the sun. I'll post a before and after cropping on each. I tried to follow rule of 1/3 but I'm having trouble getting accustom to that. I would have done a comparative on wide angle lens but not enought time, the sun was getting too bright. The first was shot at 0700 and second 0701.
You will also notice I removed the power lines in PP. Please C&C.
original before cropping (174mm)

original before cropping (500mm)

Great shot! Thanks for identifying the avocet.....I haven't seen one with the cinnamon head.
Fantastic!!! I would love to get that close to the ones around me.
I keep an album of some of my favorite images (printed on 4x6 paper and inserted in the plastic sleeves) to share with friends when appropriate. I can also display slide shows on various monitors but I've found this to be disruptive in a group event (party). I wait until someone asks to see some of my photos, pull out the album and pass it around. The ones that are interested can closely study each image and others may quickly flip through the album then pass it on to the next interested person......and the party goes on.
I absolutely love the last one!
Nice....I love the colors on the Mandarin Duck.
It might be a Cooper's Hawk...hard to tell.
Very good! It was recently suggested to me from an experienced fellow Hog that the main object would be best if positioned on the right side. Apparently a persons eye starts on the left side and moves to the right....bringing them to the object rather than away. With that in mind you might want to do a horizontal 180 degree filp on #4 and #6 and see if you like it better.
Beautiful!! I will definitely put this on "places to visit list".
Great shots! I think they can be called portraits. They capture the likeness of the girl, even the first one that is not full face.
Good job....I wish my moon images were that good. I'll keep trying.
I love images of clouds. I see the black spots, the one in dead center is most visible, but the toward upper left shows in more than one. Seems like it is on the lens whatever is causing it.
