That's what the price is here at the target stores here in the L.A. area, around $214.00

That was me... & why its marked down to $300.00 at the target store in your market area is a mystery to me?, cause they want to get rid of the SX 50's ''Fast & Furious'' at target, they do that with all discontinued cameras, mainly around the holiday season.

For you canon SX 50 lovers, now that the camera model is now discounted for the new SX 60, I've been seeing the SX 50's marked down here in L.A.

At Target there going for about $200.00, Wal-Mart, around the same, & some of the mail order catalog's like heartland based in Minnesota will sell them real cheap!

...so just letting you know.

As I agree with the others the SX 50 if you can find one now that the SX 60 is out.

I got mine in February, its working like a charm, mainly because of the hot shoe where you can hook a separate flash on, & its wide zoom, & close up (24-1200), & other features.

...so wish you luck of your purchase.

I had that problem with my 2 canon powershots, the now discontinued SX50, & the long discontinued powershot SX150is, that was discontinued in late 2012.

when i wanted to send pictures to facebook it wouldnt go, because the cable or the cameras wernt conecting to the computer.

last week i bought a SD card reader from best buy, & i have no problems with uploading photos from canon on a SD cardeader

I started posting my photos on facebook, & I don't have a problem, if the box pop's up telling you about the size of the photo, i'd ignore it & continue on.

You got a SX60, Damn... I have been at the A-list camera stores here in L.A. & it aint out here yet, even best buy & target, & Wal-Mart, & they aint got it yet.

as for why you have a short manual instead of a full one canon is trying to cut cost so that why the full manual is on the CD that you get with the camera, & download the damn thing on your computer, if you have a I-Pad, you have to get it on the canon website, when I got my powershot 150, & my SX50, I had to do it from a computer.

also regarding the new SX60 does it have the following...

in creative filters are the color accent & color swap retained in the SX 60, as was the SX50?

does the SX60 come with a cable to connect between the camera & computer, the SX50 did not come with one?

thank you

Its a dog eat dog business in wedding photography, & as I explained to person who inquired about wedding photography, the main reason the photographer is there to shoot photos for the bride & groom's big day so they can cherish these photos later in the years.

the photographer cant do it all, his or her mission, or objective is to focus on the happy couple, & the ceremony, the reception, & in between as much as possible.

nearly 2 years ago my close friend got married at or church that we attend, & I shot people that were arriving at the wedding, & after the wedding, & shooting people arriving at the reception, the photographers (the husband & wife team!) were focusing on the bride & groom, also the bride asked me to photograph people that were coming out of town that were attending, cause the pro's were busy on her & her newlywed husband.

so i'm not say its important to have an amature come in with his camera & get the close friends & family arriving to the wedding, cause every damn picture is important to the newlywed couple, pro or amature, & I understand about the pro getting interference from amatures, & pissed to hell about it, but the wedding phototographer cant do it all!

...a little help here!

Believe me I will keep a low profile at a wedding when taking photos, the matures do have a habit in getting in the way & they do not understand that the bride or groom, or both, or the brides family is paying a pro to shoot their official wedding photos, & its a helluva lot of bread! & I keep a low profile as I said at a wedding when I shoot photos.

I had a friend who got married at our church 2 days after thanksgiving in 2012, the weather here in the L.A. area was nearly 80 degrees, no rain or clouds in site, & it was a very beautiful wedding, it was an hour late, but I helped out in a way, while the main job of the husband & wife photo team was to focus on the bride & groom, my job was to do what the wedding photographers didn't do, & that was to get photos of the bride & grooms guest arriving at the ceremony outside the church, & at the reception at the Skyroom in Long Beach, Ca.

...& I did my side, & I also got shots of the bride & groom while competing with the pro's, & didn't have a problem with them, but I stayed out of their way, & they didn't know most of the guest, I did, there were only their for a buck, no complaints.

...but at a wedding or another non wedding event I will keep a low profile with my camera when a another official photographer at a event is assigned to do the official. photos.

...its called respect to another photographer.

Part two...

I want to add more...
25 years ago I had a friend of mine who was & still is a model, & when I did a photo session with her she was difficult to cooperate with, the final straw happened in December 1989 when we were at a park here in the L.A.area & I wanted to do a swimsuit project with her, & she was to wear the swimsuit under her dress suit, along with her panty hose, & 2 tone dress pumps.

when she went to put on the swimsuit under the dress suit & the shoes, she didn't have the panty hose on, the project was to have her walk in the park in the grassy area, & while she was walking, she was to shed her clothing, the shoes, the suit, the panty hose, & she was to be free & in her swim suit walking to the waterfall in the park, the sticking point was her not putting on the panty hose, & we argued over it, & I just couldn't take anymore, so I packed up my Pentax SF1N film camera that I got that may, along with my camera bag & walked, never seeing or hearing from her until may of 1991.

what drove me away from her was her ''uppty attitude'', & i wasn't going to take it from her anymore!

the moral of my comment is that if it gets to hot in the kitchen ''get the f**k out, nobody is worth getting you stressed out for a wedding job, I know the bride & groom want it right for their special day, & they want this & that!, but if they are putting in too many demands, just walk away like I did in the past.

...as dealing with her in the future in photo shoots, we got straighten out, & she cooperated on future shoots, & she did want I wanted, if I wanted her to take off her hi-heels & walk in her stocking feet, she did, it, if I told her shed off all her clothes (suit, stockings, shoes, etc), while wearing her swim suit, she did it.

...& when she got married in june of 99, we had very little rumbling about her bitching over her poses. :-)
