Looking for constructive critics that are willing to help me make my photos better give hints and such

Hi Jo, Focus is most important, in close-up, macro, and micro photography, you must get the main subject in focus, i have enclosed a macro photo to show you what i mean.
Best regards, Alf.

In a separate thread, Leicaflex wrote:

". . . This is not a Macro photograph but a close-up and in addition to the above three suggestions, adjust your camera to Aperture Priority (Av).
This will give you more control over the aperture."

My question: What's the difference between the two?

Hi, i think a lot of folk's get mixed up with close-up, macro, and micro.
Close-up is what it say's, Macro means Large, Micro means Small.

The pair of gold finches that visit my garden and even had a nest in one of my trees dissappeared for about 2 months. Then out of nowhere they are back :)
No other birds stopped coming just them, any ideas why?

Hi Izza1967, they do the same here, i think they like us, like to have a change of what they eat, so they go elsewhere, here is one of my shots, regards, Alf.

Great spotted Woodpecker.
Robin.

Alf....Wonderful bird shots. The detail is amazing. Can you tell me what camera and lens you used. Just one little pick. The Robin has a teeny bit too much sharpening or "Clarity" used as I can see a pale halo around it which spoils it for me slightly. Keep up the good work. Great first post...looking forward to seeing more.

Hi Rusty, i use both Nikon D80, and Canon 550D with numerous lens, for most bird shots i use the Sigma 170-500mm lens on both body's, regards, Alf.
