Hi MMC

If it still works use it to compare it with your DSLR just remember it use's ASA so ISO is the same. I still have an old Gossen Luna-Pro I still use it on some subjects. Have lots of fun with it.

Hi
Do take Erv's advice most good camera stores will allow for you to take a few pic's with your card...
I will tell you this I’m partial to Canon I have used them from the late 50's. Good luck on your choice.

I lost the other message that was sent to Nikonian. Trying to make a decision on Canon or Nikon body and a lens in the 24-105mm, f2.8...... Heard that Nikon has the superior processing as regards noise suppression in shadow and background detail. I have had Canon DSLR for 6 years and am increasingly disappointed in Canon quality and consistency. I have around $3 grand to spend initially for one body & one lens. A macro would follow shortly.....so guys give me your recommendation please....thanks

There are many of us here who have made the mistake of buying a Canon or Nikon.

My question is this: When selecting the place to install editing programs such as Elements or Photomatrix, can I select custom and install the program onto my external "E" drive and then use it on all of my computers by simply plugging it into a USB port ???

That's one of the first places other than Valley of Fire on the to do list. Did you go there? I've heard it's a beautiful place for shoots. My husband wants to go to Death Valley which we've been to and I didn't care much for it.

I don't even have to look up the prices of these lenses to know that I will never own one. When the camera is on the tripod, VR is off.

I wonder why every lens maker has to use a different term for the same thing: VR, VC, IS. And why does Canon have to use Av and Tv, instead of A and S? There's a lot to be said for standardization. Look at the costly mistakes that have been made with space telescopes mixing English and metric measurements.

Hello Dietxnadu
I would think twice before I’d paint my cameras body most of the paint that’s on the shelf will more the likely attack the plastic in your camera. Now if you don't want to advertise for Canon place a small strip of black tape over the Canon name one problem solved?
Have a great day taking pictures.

Dietxanadu wrote:
Painting my camera: OK I know this sounds funny. But it seems that everyone has a black camera. They may not know how to use it, but it’s black.
My Rebel is silver, but the battery pack and the lens are black. Some times it makes me feel like the back cat with the white strip on it’s back.
I would need to do a good job of masking to cover up stuff, and then there would be the down time.
There is a bright red Pentex camera, but oh my, wear would I take it. I want to blend in.

So your thoughts are most welcome.

PS: You know Canon has not done anything for me of late. So why do I have there name, and the name of the camera all over my camera?

Hello HSTEELE

I think you'll be better served by staying with Canon you already have a few lenses I guess plus the fact you already know how use a Canon the learing curv maybe not so good. But if you want to try one by all means goto a camera store and try one (Nikon) out see how it feels. Good luck.

I'm getting a new camera, I love my rebel xti and I'm pulling towards getting the t2i. Why does the t2i seem nicer then the t3? Or is Nikon really the way to go? I'm just looking to hear some pros and cons..or whatever input I get! Thanks :)

Hello globetrekker

Why don't you look for a Fadder type ND filter in the long run you will have a full range and use of the ND filters and save more money in the long run. Check this site out

You didn't mention which camera you were using and are you considering shooting video with it? Then you may need a selection of ND filters to achieve that cinematic affect at high noon.

Very useful info. Thank you! I have read that a 3 stop ND filter is a good choice. So now I’d like to buy both a polarizing filter, and a 3 stop ND filter, which will give me two ND filter options, right? I may have more questions as I look into this more. Still struggling with whether there is any reason I shouldn’t buy the cheapest 3 stop ND filter of the three I mentioned. I’m a newbie, and my glass is not good, so I suspect I could go cheap at this stage of my photographic life.

I have a Canon 60D. My first DSLR, bought in December. Haven’t shot video with it yet. I will eventually shoot a little video when traveling, but nothing extensive. So I’m not concerned about filters for video at this point, since that’s just a footnote in my mostly still shooting world.

Love this website!

I use to own a twin lens Rollei which I donated to a school in Palm Springs Ca
. Any way I used it with a L-braket attached to the twin lens and a patch cord to sync it. It was the best 2 1/4 film I ever had. The strob was a SunPac I think or a Honywell. Look on eBay for one good luck.

I recently bought a 1963 model Rolleiflex from my local camera repair shop. I shot a roll of 120 and it works fine. My question is how do I shoot with an electronic flash? With a 35mm it's easy, you can mount the flash in the shoe. There is no shoe on a Rollei. Does anyone have a system they use for doing this?
