Jeez Doc, when you talk like that it makes me want to propose to you but something tells me you are not a lady Doc.

I would rather use two 16GB card even though I have never had a failure. Losing one 16 could end up half as tragic as losing one 32. Just my paranoia I guess.

Maybe you could climb back up the cliff?

I have used every brand and every formatting and recording method known to man on several different computers and tried playing them on various players. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I deem the whole technology a crap shoot. Too many variables, too many formats and you never know if it will play or how it will play on the clients player. USB drives are more expensive but much more reliable for compatibility. Just go with the flow and cross your fingers. I see no difference in any of the name brand disks.

Retract my opening line. I have not tried the Taiyo Yuden brand mentioned above by jasman

It's guy who takes a picture of the street and then he looks at it all day.

Just feeling smart assed this morning. Please forgive.

Memory is cheap but memories are priceless.
I shoot a lot and often nearly fill a card with timescapes. I have never had a Sandisk Ultra 16 gig fail so I stick with them.

A new MKIII is selling for $3,500. A new MKII is selling for $2,200, In my opinion the MKII just became more desireable. It ain't goin nowhere, friend.

Thomas, does it work in close up critical focus macro mode?
No big thing if it works for normal shooting.

Yes, dfalk I agree with you. If it does indeed prove helpful.

It would be interesting to see if dfalk is correct. If he is I will be hot on your tail to buy the IS version. I just think it will not do much. I too crawl around and focus by getting a general focus and then moving the camera forward and back and when I feel I have focus ... click. I know the IS quells motion in the camera but ... I still am a doubter. Please let me know what you find under these circumstances.

Tina,
You blame Mudshark for saying your head was screwed on backwards. It was I who said that, not Mudshark. I just checked again and YES TINA, your head is screwed on backwards.

Your attitude seems to be "and the meek shall inherit the earth". Yes Tina, they shall. The part that the ones they were meek to pushed them into because it wasn't worth having. Get real girl. This world is as it is not as you would fantasize it is.

The alien was violated he has no amends to make.

Mudshark and Pepper have said it for me. Where is it writ that "family" grants an implied license to offend or abuse. Family places a responsibility on each member to help, support and defend the others. It does not grant a license to transgress upon the right of the other members.

Alienmurphy's daughter welcomed him to take pictures at her party. She had an obligation not to invite thieving scum to place others at hazard and she had a responsibility to do all she could to determine who the thieving scum was. She was wrong to blame dads trusting generosity for his loss.

Sorry Tina but I think your head is screwed on backwards on this issue.

Bozsik is right Mike, you can always shut it off. If it's worth $450 to have a switch to turn off I guess it might be a nice thing. Better than fidgiting with a hangnail or playing with worrybeads. $450 will buy a lot of fetish and fidget toys.

There is however NO difference in image quality or auto focus etc between the two lens. The one with IS does have some extra weathersealing and that's it. If you were shooting at a distant subject offhand there may be a use for the IS but in Macro? I think its worthless.

Sorry MT, you are correct. It is the autofocus and not the anti aliasing filter. Duh~ Anyway, it comes down to don't buy a linear for your up to date lens. Thanks for the correction.
