While they all make me a bit sad, the one with the flag is especially moving. I can't help but be drawn to the shiny white tower in the background. No flag there.
The juxtaposition, intended or otherwise, makes for a very powerful image, one that makes me wonder where our country is heading.

A field mouse's worst nightmare.
I was fortunate to get near this great horned owl at an "Octoberfest" exhibit featuring a local wildlife rehabilitator. This beautiful specimen was too damaged (wing) to be returned to its natural environment, but I like to think it is serving a greater purpose.
I bet polishing the chrome would take half a Saturday ... worth ever minute, though.
