I appreciate all the input and will never have to wonder about this topic again. I only need to examine my SD card and make sure it is up to snuff. (I threw the wrapper away.)

Ok -- here is the label

Where are you starting to hear this information from?

It was mentioned on another non-camera forum. Maybe it is just that some people try to isolate their shots into those types of categories, and therefore save them on different SDs?

I am starting to hear that there are different memory cards for different tasks? Such as 1 for macro, black and white, video, high speed burst, extremely slow shutter time and lastly a standard all around card?

What is unique to the memory card itself that would dictate these differences?

Klaus Priebe.........

I know this guy -- :-)

When I go through and into Santa Fe, NM - we have lunch / dinner together.

As I remember, Klaus Priebel's name sounds like the one I am referring to. I'll know of course once I receive the magazine.

That is what I thought. So will you order the mag and tell us the photographer that you were so impressed with?

I will -- but I need a bit of help first. The only thing I am seeing are thumbnails. Something is wrong with my computer as I cannot expand the pictures. So can you tell me what issue I was looking at and the date of the issue?
Thanks

Sedona has better scenery than most National Parks.

Another one with beautiful colors and scenery is Glen Canyon. I loved riding through it on my motorcycle.

Do you remember the front cover?

Yes I do -- A scenic shot of what looks like a Rimrock in Sedona, shot through some trees. Might have also been a fast moving brook.

I quick look shows they are offering back issues from Jan 2005 to current. I did not do a detailed review so some issues may be missing.
I do not know if you can purchase older than those offered.

Thanks for all that. For some reason my internet is not allowing me to open attached links. Might have something to do with the terrible TSs and tornadoes that are moving through here right now.

Arizona Highways Magazine is known for its photographic content. They are very particular about quality of that content. They always have been and, probably, always will be.

Yeah, I think I saw where they go back to like 1922.

Thanks for the link -- great pictures. You don't happen to know how to get online editions of their recent issues do you? I browsed their website and couldn't find it.

Sitting in the dentist office today, I picked up my first copy ever of Arizona Highway. Probably a recent addition, but I didn't get the date. But the photography was some of the best I've ever seen -- maybe THE best. They had this one spread on Sedona and I wished I had copied down the photographer's name. Clearly a step above!

Well the camera arrived much quicker than I expected. I've been unpacking everything for the last hour and a half and charging my two batteries. Had both lenses on and off and figured out how the caps attach etc. I installed both UV filters and have been advised to leave them on to protect the lens. Won't bore you all with anymore newbie stuff other than to say I can already see how much better the pics are than from my old camera.

Taken seriously or not, I love the color (candy apple red). It matches exactly my Goldwing.
