You are correct, Bob. The USS Slater was in Albany in 1997.
However, during 1999 it was moved to NYC for extensive renovations which took 15 years to complete.
On June 30, 2014 the USS Slater sailed back up the Hudson River to its place in Albany as a museum. The pictures I have posted are of its last voyage.
Not sure what your point is??

Good way to start the day with a good laugh!!
The USS Slater, a destroyer escort, was one of 563 similar craft built during WW II. It is the only one still afloat.
The ship was restored in NYC over a 15 year period and during the summer of 2014 sailed up the Hudson River to Albany NY where it is currently a museum.
Some photos as the ship sailed past West Point in June.
Thank you, 4x4.
And thanks also for the ID.
He was in a display at the Madrid train station.
Thank you.
Hope you get some good weather in Austin.
Just talked with a friend who is in San Antonio for a show; weather there is relatively cold 30-40 (although it was -3 when he left Pittsburgh).
Thank you for your kind words, Doc.
Just one word for it: SPECTACULAR!!!
Thank you for sharing.
