When I converted to digital photography, I was directed by camera shops to Canon because of the large full size sensor and the compatibility of lenses with the sensor. It was a departure from my Nikon F6.
When viewing sporting events and Olympics, the white lenses (Canon) are most prevalent. ABC exclusively used Canon as the cameras of choice. Knowing that all the pros can afford any camera they want, this is comforting for my choice.
They also make the surveillance $125,000 lens capable of taking a quality photo through a window 10 blocks away (1 mile). I wore out 2 Nikons after 160,000 exposures...have yet to have problems with any Canon--built like a tank.
