Try SANDISK RECOVERY PRO.
Worked good for me.
You'll have to pay for it but I'm sure it'll work if it is not formatted. Will usually recover about 80-90%.

Yes, hindsight, hate to make you feel silly, but when I
(backup) copy card images to a drive, et cetera, I copy them and check the properties that it has the same number of images and file size before deleting images off the card.

Yes. Like others said, change the point
of focus, not scattered like throwing a net
over everything.
I have owned a 5DMII, 70-200f2.8,
85f1.2 and 24-105f4 since November 2011
and have never used any of the auto modes.
I would never profess to be a pro. or
anything of the like, BUT you will do
yourself a great service to only use manual.
Just keep practicing, trial and error,
taking heaps and heaps of photos in
different lighting and DOF conditions.
And speedlighting.
Remember, digital is free, it's not film!
That is the only way it will be forced into
your head.
You want to control the camera, not
let it control you. It WILL take practice
and it will not be overnight.
Then you will easier understand what
is happening with your images better.
Soon when you have a fantastic
image you will be proud it was not the
computer, IT WAS ALL YOU !!

Best to try Nikon first. The longer it is reported/ delayed sending it back to Nikon, because you want to try your own repairs, the worse it will be for you.

Yes Elandel, as others mentioned, you should contact Nikon Japan as soon as possible and let them know of the persistant, well known fault with this new model and that even if it is not covered under warranty in your country, it is still a new Nikon camera and should still be of an issue to the Nikon manufacturer and that worldwide social media souring on bad Nikon after sales care will be very bad for Nikon's public reputation.
