I've been reading here everyday for a week or so now and I'm learning new things about cameras and the art of photography from all of you fine folks.

I got my first digital camera (p & s) a few years ago and will be purchasing a Nikon D3100 very soon.

I've been researching that camera and the Kodak Easy Share Max Z990 is in the same class. In between point and shoot and DSLR's they are classified as superzooms.

I have never used either one, but they are comparable.

The best prices that I found:

Nikon P500 @ Best Buy is $349.

Kodak Max Z990 @ Best Buy $257.
