It is still better to have the image rescanned as scanning the emulsion side will leave the image slightly out of focus. Personally I wouldn't trust anyone to do my scanning if they can't get it right in the first place. Scanning from the correct side is fundamental.

I have shot a lot of basketball as part of my job. I have a Sigma 28-70 and a Nikon 80-200. I've stopped using the 80-200 for BB. Instead I position myself on either corner of my subject team's goal end. I then switch to manual and zone focus about 15-20 feet out or if I can't get into the end zone I focus on the basket area. I let the action come to me, I never chase it. Sometimes I will take shots of the whole squad at the far basket but only if I can see enough faces. I've been shooting BB (and other sports) since 1972 and I've learned to get consistently good images.

Just moved some 6x9 slides from sleeves to pages. 6x9 transparencies are glorious. Time to take my Universal out for another ride. I can't wait to get my PowerMac and my scanner set up to scan these. This image was taken with my Moskova "pocket" 6x9. The only PP was a parallex adjustment a a slight crop.

I use an app called "send to Kindle" which makes PDFs readable in Kindle. Once in Kindle it is available on their cloud. Kindle readers are free for any platform.

You might try renting lenses to test them out.

I found a video on youtube that showed the exact procedure for my printer. Of course the company wanted to sell me their proprietary cleaning fluid at a ridicules price but I went on Amazon and found a suitable head cleaner for much less. The video showed using aquarium air tube to place over the head posts but this proved to have too large an ID (the fluid leaked out) so I tried to stretch it the way I used to do glass tubing but that didn't work so I went back to Amazon and bought a 12 pack of disposable pipettes. My machine was so dried up I had to leave the pipettes on over night, twice, but now it works fine. I used the same method to clean some of my clients printers too.

As a pro I offer a product with superior value and I market this. There have always been those who prefer cheap to quality and there always will be. If your product can't compete you need to improve your offering.

One of the members of a nature photo club I belonged to would buy eggs and hatch them out. When they were fully grown he would kill them and mount them then photograph them. H e won a lot of prizes until his methoud came out then he was barred from competition.

I know my iPhone is not cutting edge but it communicates seamlessly with my two Macs and iPod, no third party software required.

My personal experience is that pre + post takes twice as long as shooting. I'd estimate the job at two days and bill accordingly. I usually bill $600-$900 per day but that might not be right for you.

Create a trap. a pice of plexiglass mounted at an angle to the front glass. This keeps the fish in a reasonable depth of field and minimizes their mobility, making them easier to photograph and focus on. You can also see the tank background through the plexi. For more technical photographs use a dark sheet of plastic to obscure the background and mount a scale to the glass so it can be seen in the photo. I kept a special aquarium set up with clear plexiglass and a set of colored backgrounds I could just slip in. I would float the fish in the space behind the plexi sheet. I got this technique from an Axelrod book.
